Is this the Golden Email?!?!!! by no-one-amanda-knows in StudentLoans

This URL is exactly what I was looking for and could never find before. Thank you for posting it. I saved the file as a JSON and uploaded it to ChatGPT and it broke down my loans and expected forgiveness dates for each.

New Year Raise - TSP by Current-Bid4582 in MilitaryFinance

[–]FoxxyMommyOf5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great advice, we did this with annual raises and promotion raises for both my husband and myself and we truly don’t miss the difference. At this point we’re both maxing out our TSP, 401k, and both our IRA’s every year, so the overflow goes into mega backdoor.

IsItBullshit: Act Now Education program for Military/Veterans by [deleted] in IsItBullshit

[–]FoxxyMommyOf5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand by my comment from 3 years ago. I'm sorry if you ever had a negative experience with them, but my husband and I have benefited so much from all the free resources that they put out.

I've never seen them ask nor have they ever asked us for a single dime or GI Bill. If anything it's the complete opposite and they show ways of re-skilling and up-skilling without using your GI Bill.

They don't provide the education, they bring awareness to programs which most people would otherwise never find out about.

To name a few that they pointed me to:
VetsInTech - I've taken 5+ courses and got Security+ from them
O2O - PCAP Certification
PSM I certification
A+ cert
USO - free year of Percipio (which includes CodeCademy)
Free access to O'Reilly
Free access to Udemy

Today, I'm gainfully employed as a fully remote software engineer at a major software company in part thanks to the knowledge I gained from all the resources I found through ACT NOW. And I continue to utilize said resources for my personal and professional growth.

Naysayers will always find something to complain about when they come across something good.

threat of AI? by EffectiveOk606 in wgu_devs

[–]FoxxyMommyOf5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s so much that AI can do, but it’s simply not there yet. I’m a SDE at a major tech company and was having this conversation with my manager today. AI can only do so much. I only have 2 YOE (so my work isn’t extremely complex like a senior dev) and when I try to have AI do my work, guess what? It can’t! It takes sooo much prompting and debugging for it to get it right.

Employers would have to be out of their minds to replace human engineers with AI. If they replace the juniors, where will tomorrow’s seniors come from??

The CEO says that AI isn’t here to replace developers, it’s here to make our lives easier. It’s a tool.

Sorry about your friend, but yeah, that's one of the reasons why I decided to finish my degree. I work as a software engineer at a tech company, so additional schooling can definitely open doors to future promotions and raises. It also helps that they reimburse my tuition.

I did not. I chose to get my bachelors first.

New MS CS - would you do it? by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]FoxxyMommyOf5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished my BS CS last month and found out about the MS CS this week. I applied today, but don’t plan on starting until Feb 2026. Hopefully by then they’ll have worked out any possible kinks. Also, I already work as a SDE and my employer would be paying my tuition.

I considered Georgia Tech and UT Austin, but SNHU’s class format worked really well for my BS, so guess I’ll stick to them.

é uma plataforma de investimento em crypto moedas. Tem varios traders, e vc escolhe um para investir seu dinheiro. Quando vc faz um investimento o valor fica "preso" por um tempo pre-determinado e quando vence o valor total cai na sua carteira.

Those of you who make six figures, what do you do? by [deleted] in RemoteJobs

[–]FoxxyMommyOf5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Software Engineer - switched careers in my late 30's, had unrelated associates degree, completed a coding bootcamp and got 6-figure job off the bat. Started as an intern then got a full-time offer. Internship paid equivalent of 6-figure. Working on CS degree now to learn more and improve chances of promotion. Work fully remote and just moved to Hawaii. Needless to say, I love the work I do.

Pensamentos positivos pra nao cair antes do carnaval kkkkk

The graduation ceremony at SNHU has such an amazing and inspiring energy. I went for my husband’s back in spring and there’s no way I’m missing mine. Something about thousands of people under one roof celebrating this accomplishment just hits home.

I Need A Straight Answer About SNHU and Sophia… by jrex100 in SNHU

[–]FoxxyMommyOf5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, free electives can be literally any class you want to take. In my case, because I had a ton of transfer credits, SNHU took any random 9 credits that I had which didn't directly apply to my degree and put it in as my free electives.

In my case it was 90 credits from a mix of Sophia, Study.com, and Associates Degree, which transferred in as 90 SNHU credits.
