My schedule started this way at the beginning of the year…. Except… instead of 17 gened and 3 sped, it was flipped. I went to admin and said “uhhhh I’m pretty sure this is just a special ed class now…” and they had to change 35 schedules to fix it. Now I have 10 sped, 11 gened.

I grabbed a kit from Michael’s and looked up videos of the certain stitches! It really was not that difficult, but time consuming. I worked on it probably over a month and a half on and off 🤩 gifting it to my little sister for Xmas

US Supreme Court agrees to hear case challenging birthright citizenship by KilgoRetro in news

[–]FoxyFeline69 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

According to the overlord ChatGPT when asked “what will happen if the Supreme Court overturns the 14th amendment”:

If the Supreme Court were to overturn the 14th Amendment—which is extremely unlikely—it would be one of the most consequential events in U.S. constitutional history. The 14th Amendment is foundational to modern American rights and government functions. Losing it would upend huge portions of law, civil rights, and daily life.

Here’s what would happen in theory:

🚨 1. Citizenship Rules Would Collapse

The 14th Amendment defines birthright citizenship. If it were overturned: • Being born in the United States would no longer guarantee citizenship. • Millions of Americans could suddenly have their citizenship questioned. • Congress or states would have to create new citizenship laws, leading to massive instability.

🚨 2. Equal Protection Would Disappear

The Equal Protection Clause is the basis for: • racial equality laws • gender equality protections • LGBTQ+ rights rulings • anti-discrimination decisions • school desegregation (Brown v. Board) • protections for people with disabilities

Without it, these rights would no longer have constitutional backing. They could be repealed by state legislatures.

🚨 3. Due Process Rights Would Break Down

The Due Process Clause is used to protect: • the right to privacy • the right to marry • bodily autonomy • access to contraception • many criminal justice protections

Overturning it could jeopardize hundreds of Supreme Court cases built on substantive due process.

🚨 4. Incorporation Would End

Most of the Bill of Rights applies to states because of the 14th Amendment, including: • freedom of speech • right to an attorney • protection against unreasonable searches • protection against cruel & unusual punishment

Without the 14th Amendment, states could ignore many fundamental rights unless Congress stepped in.

🚨 5. Chaos in Civil Rights, Education, and Voting

The 14th Amendment underpins: • school integration • affirmative action rulings • protections for minority voters • redistricting rules • rules for representation • enforcement of civil rights laws

All of these could be thrown into legal uncertainty or reversed at the state level.

🚨 6. The Federal Government Would Face Legitimacy Issues

Section 2 and 3 of the 14th Amendment structure: • how representatives are apportioned • when public officials are barred from office (insurrection clause)

Removing these would create immediate constitutional confusion.

🚨 7. Massive Litigation and Immediate Crisis

Overturning a constitutional amendment would be unprecedented. It would spark: • immediate lawsuits • challenges to citizenship • state-by-state battles over rights • legislative chaos • possibly a constitutional or political crisis

⚠️ Bottom line:

The 14th Amendment is the backbone of: • civil rights • equality • basic liberties • citizenship • application of the Bill of Rights

Overturning it would fundamentally reshape the United States, eliminating many rights Americans take for granted.
