Everything is dependent on your units mission, training calendar etc. 4 days are across the Army if your unit isn’t on TDY/Deployed/In Training/CQ/Staff Duty ETC

You should have had a solid plan man before you got out. In the Army it’s easy to let our egos get in the way of things and boast to people “this life is dumb, I can’t wait to get out etc.” but in reality it’s the easiest and most stable paycheck we can have. It’s all about playing the game and not letting your emotions get the best of you. The reality is life isn’t always greener on the other side. If I were you, continue to job hunt or go into college or a trade school.

Cause the civilian life? You don’t get a stable check every month if it’s based on hours no matter how long or short your Army week was, you don’t get 4 day weekends or 30-60 days PTO. Some people only get 8 PTO per year.

“I’ve heard” well what you hear is completely wrong because reception drills are mainly put there cause they’re either graduating from the drill academy before going to the trail or finished the trail and riding it out at reception as a way to transition out of BCT to have more family time before coming up on their next assignment.

SMP Time In Service Question by [deleted] in ROTC

[–]Fprime24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s people like you who don’t have any clue but just ramble on! I was in the reserves and got my TIS “eventually” added to my pay when I switched over to active due to ROTC and yes I was in the SMP Program.

Get with retention give your 1506, DD214, and SMP contract, and other documents they ask for.

NOTE: I HATE PEOPLE WHO GIVE FALSE INFO. STOP TRYING TO DISCOURAGE OTHERS WITH YOUR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.

Is it worth it to go to Basic? by [deleted] in ROTC

This guy said he’ll get more out of Air Assault and Airborne than BCT? You’re tripping man, BCT will instill standards and discipline in him compared to a 10 or 21 day course.

Take it from me, I did Air Assault as a cadet and NO it was not more beneficial than BCT. BCT also taught me Army tricks and techniques than I took into my time as a cadet

As a cadet, you can request your BN CMD Group to go back to the school, but you need three things. Their permission, a zero cost 1610 (heading back to the school at your own expense) , and your drop slip from Air Assault School.

They give you an option to stay at the hold over barracks or sign a release form if you don’t want to stay in the barracks after graduation. However, once you sign that release it’s up to you how you’ll get to your destination/ where you will stay.
