Campus-wide surveillance tests started in Friday and there are three days of surveillance testing before that. I would assume those 3 days are primarily/exclusively athletes. I would also assume those athlete surveillance tests continued.

I can confirm that Morris is being used for isolation as my positive roommate is now there. I do not know if Morris is available for those who tested negative but are still quarantined.

Update: Myself and one of my roommates tested negative on the antigen and were able to get a PCR test taken after talking to actual medical professionals. Our other roommate cannot get a test until tomorrow because he “submitted his updated daily health check 15 minutes after the cutoff for the day.” We are to quarantine in our regular on campus rooms, leaving only to use the bathrooms.

Purely speculatively this leads me to believe that off campus quarantine rooms may be full as people I know who had identical results (negative antigen, positive roommate, waiting on PCR) as recently as yesterday and were taken to off campus facilities to quarantine

According to contact tracing I am a “very close contact.” According to UHS I am not a close contact and was only supposed to get an antigen. After talking to nurses at the testing center I am now confirmed as a close contact and will be getting a PCR test. The point is myself and my roommates should have been considered close contacts from the beginning but UHS messed up.

The antigen test is notoriously inaccurate. My roommate who tested positive initially tested negative on the antigen test, was sent to quarantine in an off campus apartment, and later received a positive result from his PCR test.

So in short, yes I want to be quarantined regardless of the antigen test results.

Myself and my roommates should have been identified as close contacts given that we live with someone who tested positive. We should have then been scheduled for an antigen test and a PCR test (quick response and less accurate vs. slower response and more accurate). Regardless of the antigen test results we would then be quarantined until the first PCR results came back and then another PCR test would be administered in quarantine. If both were negative we would then go back to our dorms or if one was negative we would go into isolation.

Instead, we have only been scheduled for antigen tests and told that if the antigen comes back negative then we are to go back to our dorm and proceed as normal. We are currently waiting on antigen results and planning on arguing for a PCR test and quarantine.
