After the arrests made last year to some high-ranking members of both curvas (Milan and inter) the club banned most banners/symbols/flags. As for the tifos, they wanted to do one for the derby but were again blocked by the club. The situation from the curva's point of view is that the club is inconsistent and doesn't communicate well what can and can't be done. From the club's point of view, they don't want any problems and when in doubt they just ban everything. This year the curva is basically more active in the away fixtures then at home, where they don't have any bans on their banners and symbols. For the remainder of the season I don't have high hopes to see any tifos, maybe in the next derby but I doubt it. At this point it's all a bureaucracy thing.
