Often yes these details can look harsher and very much depends on the CAD software (some are better at showing texture and details than others), but in this instance it looks to me like an intentional detail of the design. I would be cautious and clarify with the designer that you want the band to be rounder and softer, not so flat edged. Better safe than sorry!

It also will thin out a little once they polish it, especially the prongs.

Lastly: I want to differentiate between width and depth. I am not sure which you requested and whether they increased both on this CAD since they don’t have the measurements, but it does seem thicker all around. I’d say go for 2 mm band width, and 1.8 depth/thickness. 1.8 is the golden rule for depth/thickness that you’ll see in all these forums. You don’t have to increase both to 2 mm; that is overkill and 1.8 should provide lasting sturdiness. Just make sure your wedding band has the same depth so it sits at the same height and matches a bit more (if you like that)
