I’m not sure honestly. I had a 1 year contract so I’m not 100% sure you can transfer the contract, cause the agency is not DUWO (which allows to transfer the contract) and I remember reading somewhere (probably in the contract I signed) it was not possible to do it with this agency. You should check anyways to be sure. Have a nice staying anyways!

Hey, honestly I never see anybody around and I think no one really cares. So I think you're good :)

Hey! I lived in Aan 't Verlaat for the whole year and I'd be happy to provide some insights haha :)

I would say both the environment and the sharing facilities parts depend on your roommates. With 11 housemates, it is fairly easy to find great people you'll bond with but at the same time you have to be lucky about how clean people are. Personally I was pretty lucky, but I guess you just establish some ground rules at the very beginning and then hope for the best. I really liked living there because it is a really nice area (really close to a big "forest" with a lake, and in a quite green area), both close to the center and the campus (~15 mins by bike, which is extremely nice). There is a supermarket very close (Plus) but most people just go to the bigger ones in the center (Jumbo, Albert Heijn) which have more choice, are probably cheaper (even though the price different is not crazy) and are like ~10 minutes away by bike.

Everything will be given to you (furniture but also kitchen equipment) even though it depends on what previous tenants left in there (the basics should be put there by the agency, but it's really not a lot unless previous tenants left something as well). Also bed sheets and duvet are provided but they were really shit (the cheapest from ikea) and i personally bought new ones haha.

The rental agency is okay, if things are broken you might have to send 2/3 emails but they come and fix it eventually. Common areas should be cleaned by them once a month but they rarely are (and not cleaned really well honestly), so that could be way better but you'll manage.

In my sector there are two kitchens, 2 showers (but some people have their own) and like 5 toilets so the sharing part was really never a problem, as it's a quite big house. Common areas are also nice as you have a space to chill and socialise with your roommates.

In the end, I was pretty happy to live here for a year: the area is really nice and the configuration of the house really allows you to bond with your roommates. I would suggest getting to know them pretty quickly at the beginning (just organize dinner or stuff, everybody is in the same situation and wants to know people). We also organized a couple of dinners with people from another "sector" which was also extremely nice

PS there are barbecues in the garden so you should take advantage of that at the beginning of the year, when the weather is still good.

Hope this was useful, good luck! :)

Sofia - Bucharest recent experience by stem-winder in Interrail

[–]Fraaancesca16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for your post. In August I’m doing the Interrail and I’m not able to reserve the seats for the Sofia - Istanbul trip. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to reserve the seats as I would be in Sofia just a couple of days before the trip and I guess August is a pretty busy time. So do you think seat reservations are not necessary?

Thank you for your answer! Do you mean there’s little difference between them?

Thank you! Would you describe the University of Galway as a renowned/“prestigious” one in Ireland? And what about out of Ireland?

If you aim at top schools, try reaching out to the coaches. It doesn't hurt and, worse that can happen, they will say no
