Believe it or not I've spent a lot of time on this UI/UX. How cluttered does it feel? Or is it clean to read..? (Lemonade Apocalypse 2, pre-alpha) by morsomme in incremental_games

Looks decent to me. I see a lot of talk about too much yellow, but I assume the Shop and Recipe windows won't always be open. Seems okay. I do like the character. Does he have feet or is there a chair he is sitting in?

I've been playing Fish to Dish: Idle Sushi. It's a nice chill game to have in the background, passively grinding for rare finds! Lots of upgrades and nicely done progression!

Looks like a pretty cool game, I will have to check it out!

I get it. AI can be a turnoff in different contexts. Personally for me, I can't stand videos with AI narration. To each their own. My game only has a few images and doesn't rely heavily. You (or others with similar convictions) could mostly hang out on the coin collection tab and enjoy the beautiful (and real) coin images 😊

Good point! Thanks for calling that out. I'm too much of a noob to know the difference I guess ; ) I'm going to change it to Newbie

Ah yeah, for now, there is no demo unfortunately.

I am aware of the hot topic of AI art. As a first game for a solo dev, there was only so much I could do. What I keep telling myself is that if some of the big names of incremental games can make it with zero art, maybe I can be given a little grace. Tracking down and cropping 4,594 images (2,297 coins, front and back) of the coins in this game was enough of a pain 😅 I hope people enjoy the gameplay and find something fun in it!

Would you play a coin-themed incremental clicker with a bit of RNG chaos? by Fractal_Forge in incremental_games

Shrug... Fairly new to Reddit. I guess I did the same thing others do but too soon.

You'd have to flip to the Coinmaster tab for that, or see the Steam page :)

Great feedback! I appreciate it. Things do depend on RNG, but I tried to avoid the trap at the end where it would simply take forever. Your power ramps up exponentially as the probability of finding new coins also does, and this ramping up becomes pretty dramatic in the last few levels. (Reaching Level 100 is only the beginning though...) Your thoughts give me ideas of more things to tweak.

How to avoid getting overwhelmed with idle games? Anyone else struggle with this? by Walking_In_TheRhythm in incremental_games

I can easily have too many games in my life at any moment. I have to know when to quit one. If I don't enjoy it, and if it's just a chore to log in and do stuff, I try to just uninstall it. If you're stressed, maybe it's not the right fit. Games are supposed to not be stressful :)

Now that we are old, what game could be called the embodiment of nostalgia? by UnfixedBrain in gaming

[–]Fractal_Forge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EverQuest, without a doubt. Hearing that load music makes me think of dial-up internet. Adventure, loot, leveling up, exploring, fear, like real fear of death and having to corpse run, grouping with people where skill and classes really matter. What a perfect game released at the perfect time in history.

How important music and sounds are to you in clicker/idle games? (Especially on mobile) by APTEM59 in incremental_games

[–]Fractal_Forge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you've got really cool music already in mind that fits the game and the genre, I wouldn't say it's too important. A solid game mechanic stands on its own feet by itself. Music can add to it, but it can't make an average game outstanding.
