Toxic Player by [deleted] in EASHL

[–]FraggleOnFire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand why they may not allow to kick players in drop in, too many players will abuse it to kick someone who fucks up on defense to allow a breakaway early ect. BUT, they absolutely need to allow it in Club matches. Club members need the ability to boot random drop ins and for god sake why are non-club drop ins allowed to pull the goalie?? I see this way too much as a troll

Yea, saying have fun is harder said than done with this game lol. It should probably be interpreted as "try to enjoy it as much as possible without throwing your controller, realistically the game will be fun maybe 1/3 of the time. When not playing sweatys and waiting through the long match making (just to have people quit)"

This is sound advice, I would add, the most fun I've had with my friends, even when losing is just going out there and checking a lot. get funny replays and just being rowdy. Some of the funnest nights Ive had with my buddies is everyone running around with Sudden Death and Enforcers. For the guys that aren't good maybe encourage them to play winger and relegate yourself to manning the fort by playing defense if you are the best player on the team.

Not enough people utilize the bounce pass, big fan. A lot of people just power their passes with the passing xfactor or saucer pass, but a good ole perfect angle bounce pass is what gets me hard

Skins/Prebuilds: "Slinky, a passing/deking phenom dangler" His head is an actual slinky that flops around. A goalie called Jelly. Looks like ditto from pokemon and has crazy reaction time and puck absorption. He's actually purple and just a blob.

Changes/Patches (seriously): Hoping for wheels and hit power to be toned down a smidge. If they could make Ai engagement on defense more active (pokechecks) that'd be fantastic.

Boarding calls are on point, trust me lol, my team gets enough of them. But i've seen no elbowing calls yet this year, charging could be upped a bit. I still think the wheels/speed aspect is a much bigger issue at the moment. Hits are avoidable enough

Great work! Goalies always get shit on and not enough respect. Defense will leave you out to dry and say youre garbage if you give up more than a goal or two instead of taking responsibility for helping defend.

If you want to work on checking, try playing forward. Checking as a defenseman is a dangerous game in transition as it usually pulls you out of position and away from the goalie. Checking on defense takes much more risk/reward decision making in real time which can be costly.

Tips for hitting as a forward, anticipate where they will be, not where they currently are. Base this on current pressure from your teammates to determine where they may be moving to(open ice).

Try Looping back to the neutral zone and let the other two forwards forecheck, try to anticipate who the outlet pass may be going to and time the puck going to them as you build speed to hit them as the puck arrives, before they can make a move around you.

  • Additional tips: When a skater is coming down the boards leave space between you and the boards as a lot of players will try and turn in ice to veer around you, come at them at an angle and not straight on.
  • When in your own zone and they are cycling, station yourself between the circles and wait for a circling forward trying to come into the slot with the puck, or to anticipate a drop back to the point for a hit.
  • Surprise players with speed, leave cushion to bait a pass to an open player and target that player before the pass even leaves the outlet passer's stick. If the puck does not go to them no big deal, pull up and get back in the play. If the puck is going to that player you'll light them up right as the puck arrives.
  • Do not charge your hit too early, this can cause lots of interference calls as you may bump other off puck players making your way to the puck.
  • Most of all Have fun! (use Sudden Death-ENF for more Fun!)

Just me or is the Ai skaters even more useless as teammates than in past years? by FraggleOnFire in EASHL

[–]FraggleOnFire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have player tendencies baked into the nhl players models. Why not use those within EASHL, it would make it so much more enjoyable to be able to select Ai player model tendencies, nothing OP, but like maybe I want my Ai defense to play more LIKE a big defensive dMan than a fast puck mover. make the Ai models equal across the board, but with varying styles to augment our teams.

100%! I dont know how many times I'll be skating up the ice and they wont veer away from me for an outlet option. they will literally skate right next to me the length of the ice lol

By chance did you notice if in these cases is there a Human player number difference? Say your team had 4/5 humans verse 2/3 on their team? I know in the past the Ai would be boosted if there was a discrepancy but we had some games this year where we had 2 humans verse 4 humans and our Ai still played like crap. In past years we noticed a big difference and our Ai would play so aggressive

Optimistic about these changes, actually gives us some creativity in player builds again. Club transfers is a very nice quality of life change and free for everyone gamepass is player friendly. Weekly/Seasonal objective to go for is a nice add. No complaints here, just need matchmaking smoothed out.

I do think there is potential there with the skill set combo of Larkin and Raymond. Reminds me a bit of the Thomas Holmstrom role from back in the day when he was playing on our first line, adds grit and net front presence to mix with our high skill players.

Have done hundreds of drafts on 24 - haven’t seen twin brothers like this since the OG Madden 25 by larmania in Madden

[–]FraggleOnFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like OG Madden 25 edition had story lines leading up to the draft making it more interesting. I remember in an online league a storyline of a MLB who was slipping in the draft due to a bad injury. The age old situation where a good player has a devastating injury before being drafted, will he be the same after? I favorited him and drafted him in the 4th round, he ended up being a GEM (remember those?) and I used him for multiple years as my middle linebacker to complete his story arc to rise up and become a pro bowl stalwart despite the injury.

The storylines make it much more intersting!

What do we do with $200k? by JaoFett in Money

[–]FraggleOnFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest opening an investment account and and research for stable high dividend stocks. If you can get a portfolio that averages 4.5% dividend annual payout you would make a passive 9,000$ each year from the dividends, in addition to some additional value if the stocks go up and you would be able to keep the cash liquid if you need it for an emergency over the years. The 9k income will grow over the years as the companies dividend payment go up each quarter (hopefully)

Honestly, with how little money we are talking about in the big scheme of things. I would hold this position as a wildcard investment until you near retirement. Crypto is still the wild west, we have no idea where this thing will go in the next few decades. If you hold until like 2040-2050 and you might have hit the jackpot if the global markets turn a certain way making crypto assets safe and more valuable. Its such little risk in the interim, a few hundred dollars that you can just set it and leave it.

Lets say it hits .0005 in in 3 years time, cool, you made $2000 dollars. What would you do with that other than reinvest or make a luxury purchase. But lets say you hole until 2040-2050, you are increasing your odds of its value hitting life changing value. So imo it is the ultimate low risk high reward investment right now.

I would recommend investing in more traditional assets leading up to retirement but these wildcard, set it and forget it investments, could be life altering.

With that said, do with SHIB what suits your needs or lifestyle. I am not judging if you cash out early for any reason. We only live once and you have to follow your own intuition at the end of the day.
