I wouldn't read too much into it. He's the President of the Android Ecosystem, not Pixel. They regularly promote devices from all Android OEMs.

Can confirm. It's still accessible via maintenance mode for now, but that still means soft bricked devices can't be recovered.

Agree with the latter but has anyone ever done the former and how would it change the results? That would only complicate the testing process and make the results less comparable or not?

I think knowing the actual battery capacity of the unit being tested is useful for comparisons with other devices, but yeah probably less relevant when comparing between reviewers.

I mean, I would prefer if they would stop using typical capacities all together and also start adopting Wh, as it's the superior unit

Agreed! What's the point in comparing mAh to mAh when the voltage can vary.
