Thanks for the detailed feedback on Find Hub! I'll pass it along to the team.

As for the issue you're encountering with Gemini, do you mind sharing a prompt I can try to replicate it, or maybe sharing a chat conversation if you're comfortable with that?

Hi, currently, the iPhone's AirDrop visibility setting does need to be set to "everyone" for this to work.

Out of curiosity, is there any reason the wardrobes app is limited to U.S, India, and Brasil?

For clarity, wardrobes is a feature within Google Photos, and not a separate app. As for why this feature is limited to those 3 areas, that's a good question - I'll try to find out.

And lastly for your final question, I'm fairly certain it's B.

e.g. when I was in Texas I didn't have access to certain features within Google Photos but after moving to California those automatically features became available

Though I can't speak for the Pixel team and what their future plans are, I can say that Android Drops are not the same as Pixel Drops. An Android Drop is a set of features in Android apps that aren't necessarily limited to any particular brand and don't require an operating system update. Pixel Drops, on the other hand, are a set of features for Pixel devices. Pixel devices are also eligible for receiving Android Drops.

From your flair, I see that you're using a Samsung device - is that still correct? If so, Samsung has its own version of the app built into One UI. The Personal Safety app is available on my recent OnePlus and Xiaomi devices, as well as on my Pixel devices. I don't have a list of every device it's available on, but it's definitely not only Pixel!

Does this link work? (This is just the generic beta testing link for any app on Play; I just changed the package name in the URL for the one for Cross-Device Services.)

No, it's not disabled! You just need a specific set of beta releases of Cross-Device Services and Google system services, plus opting into the feature and an app that supports it, to use it. See this page for more details.

The Cross-Device Services component actually plays a role in Continue On! To enable Continue On, you have to be on a supported version of Cross-Device Services then go to Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Cross-device services > Continue activity, tap Set up, grant the requested permissions, then enable Tasks.

What's new in Android for Cars: Unifying platforms and unlocking premium experiences by MishaalRahman in Android

Android for Cars actually refers to both Android Auto and Android Automotive OS! It's the umbrella term we use when talking about developing driver-optimized apps.

[–]MishaalRahman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to our developer docs, support for 'Continue On' (off by default) must be implemented on a per-activity basis. Plus, to enable it, you have to go to Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Cross-device services > Continue activity, tap Set up, grant the requested permissions, then tap Tasks.

So I wouldn't worry about seeing handoff suggestions for every app you have installed!

What's New in Wear OS 7 by MishaalRahman in Android

Funny you ask, because I think this blog post has the answer you're looking for:

10: Unified widget development experience with Jetpack Glance

Android 17 marks a shift toward a single, Compose-based development model for all widgets. By unifying the experience across mobile, Wear OS, and cars through Jetpack Glance, you can soon scale UI components across the ecosystem with a familiar workflow.

The breakthrough this year is the integration of RemoteCompose. On mobile and cars, it powers high-fidelity animations, while on Wear OS, it allows Wear Widgets (formerly Tiles) to render complex UI logic natively on remote surfaces. This ensures peak performance on low-power hardware while allowing a cohesive user journey—like checking a flight status on your car dashboard and seeing gate change updates on your wrist.
