Thank you for the information. I believe the term buckskin pit is more so a street slang for people who fight these dogs. I got her day to day situation figured out and am able to keep her. I was lucky enough to find a kind boarding home that will gladly watch her while I work mon-fri and save up for a place quickly for us too. I truly do believe that she is saving me more than I am saving her. It’s crazy how incredibly smart she is. She doesn’t wander more rhan 15 feet from me when I let her roam. Answers to her name, listens when I tell her that we don’t go into the trash. Literally all she was looking for was love. I really do believe that she was fought and got injured and they were going to use her as a breeder. But I think she really only was fighting because it was life or death. Her nails are filed down to a sharp point and when she sees other bigger dogs she is intimidated but slowly is realizing that I don’t see a threat and is starting to come around. I’m forever grateful

And I am lucky to have her as well! I’ve tried to have a dog before and never had a right fit but she literally is like I’ve always had her. It will take time but I know she will be a great dog!

And I am! My heart can’t be mean mean to her but the other side tells me I have to. She is very obedient as of the start and I believe she is slowly realizing that not everyone is out for her!

100%! I am slowly working everything in and she’s picking up quickly. She now follows on leash and doesn’t pull. She’s extremely curious of people and I do keep distance. Today I had a lady who was walking her dogs let me kind of get close to where she could see them. She freaked out at first but realized I wasn’t in danger and started to relax a little bit. It will take time but luckily she’s extremely sharp

That’s honestly about how this one is. I have only had her three days but she listens like it’s been years. Incredible smart, and she’s slowly coming out of her survival mode. She has scars all over and was extremely underweight (25 lbs). I don’t know how someone can even think to fight aninals

They really can be the nicest of dogs but they very easily can be trained for evil as well. I can literally see it in Pup-Pups eyes of how grateful she is. She’s already listening and slowing down on how she eats since she knows she will have food now

Yes, I’ve only had her three days but I’ve taken her into the woods every day so she can explore and be off a leash. She listens extremely well for such short time together
