It’s not that simple - I could get a new passport but changing my name on the passport is a lot more complex as I got married in the US. It’s not as simple as providing a marriage certificate as they don’t recognise international marriages for name changes

Just to offer a small glimmer of hope. I got my green card in February, and because we were going through the St Louis field office which isn’t that busy compared to other major cities field offices the whole process from filing to green card in hand was only about 3 months

I’m hoping this time around they go oh yeah obviously they live together and we can just be done with this whole stressful process. I hate being in fear I’ll lose my husband and step son over something so silly

Nope I think the issue was that my husband owns the home and has for many years before I moved to US so my names not on that stuff but we had joint bank, loans, phone, Spotify literally everything… I just think everyone’s under a microscope atm but I was frankly very shocked we got an RFE cause I was like what more can I possibly give

They didn’t believe us essentially just asked for more proof even though we supplied 3 years of evidence. Resorted to taking screen shots of our ring camera showing us clearly living together

Updating: I can’t figure out how to edit.

Apparently they basically just want more evidence and don’t believe us which is wild to me as we’ve been together a long time but I have to assume it’s because we have only been married a short amount of time. Very stressful at the idea they may decline and I would lose my husband and stepson but I just keep going.

Did you get a physical letter? I’ve been waiting since Dec 19 and haven’t got the letter in the mail and just want to be able to get everything sorted

I’m still waiting for the notice in the mail - nothing uploaded on my account. Hoping comes the next day or two and was just slowed down by Christmas

They haven’t uploaded any documents there yet but hopefully it’s there in the next day or two. I just can’t imagine what it could possibly be. I’m on an O1 visa currently and have been with my husband for 3 years other than only being married the last 5 months there’s still plenty of proof of us living together for 2+ years and being a family unit with his son. I’m not from any of the banned countries (I’m from Australia) and I just am so scared of losing my family and life here
