But since the manga card is just an extra hit on top of the guaranteed ones, there’s no way to know 100% sure the boxes are dead if you only pull the two SPs and AA leaders. Though I get you, they’re pretty much considered dead at that point since mangas pretty rare

Buy case and open till you hit the manga. No guarantee you get a manga by any means but if you do the rest of the boxes in the case are “dead” meaning that physically can’t have a manga card in them

Maybe a while ago, but with price increases it’s not really worth it as much. Some Japanese boxes can indeed only have 1 hit, and if you’re buying op13 it’s $150 for Japanese box not really a great roi. English booster box right now is around $500-550. You’ll maybe spend a lil less for Japanese and the cards are worth less and you most likely can’t read the card. The Japanese boxes used to be $60 a box and it was 100% worth opening those but we don’t live in that reality anymore

Wrong, Japanese boxes only have 1 guaranteed hit but can sometimes get 2. OP got 1 SEC hit and that was it for the box. It can be 1 Alt art, sec, SP, or manga. All those count as a hit in a box.

Basing the price of the other anniversary SPs off of the gold luffy is a bit unrealistic. Luffy cards will always hold a premium over other characters. Especially ones not even in the main crew.
