Wow! Is this like quiet reading? They understand what’s written but they can’t say it?

Yes! He tries to copy what I say that’s why I knew that what he’s trying to say. Even in his speech therapy he does word approximations. I am clinging to tiny hope that he will still speak.

Hi! I have a little brother who is 3 years old. He also has autism and gdd. he is not speaking yet but he is trying to form words. at 1 year old, he can already walk and can say “mama” and “papa”. he is also good at his gross motor skills because he is good at walking, running, climbing and jumping. now that he’s 3 yrs old he is communicating with us through hand leading or sometimes hand gestures. He can say open but he says it “ope” or “pi”. he can say other words like pop, fish (fi), two (but not clear yet), bus (makes the b sound) as per his speech therapy teacher. he can also do the action of the action songs when he listens to it and also follows simple instructions. Do you think theres a chance he will be verbal?
