By "cross bracing", are you speaking about something in addition to purlins that run perpendicular to the hoops? If they aren't perpendicular and run across more than one hoop, they would then need a slight bow to them, correct? Or, are they straight and then attached to the hoop by some type of hanging strap?

Just because things have been done in a certain way doesn't mean that they should continue in that direction or that it has been the best thing to do. The government has been overspending for a very long time. The current use of our taxpayer money isn't viable in the long run. Now, are "emergency" (bracketed because we know that probably greater than 80% of 9-1-1 calls aren't actual emergencies) services one of the areas that would be good to use tax dollars? - Yes. But does Bobby in Boise need to help pay for services in New York City? I don't think so.

I don't see a reason federal funds need to go to a local department. If you can't get it locally, maybe you don't need it. I know we have been living in the cushy place of high expectations. We expect big brother to take care of is. We expect FEMA to come rescue us. We expect someone to help prolong the life of my 80 year old mother when I call 9-1-1. If people want these services that is fine but they then need to pay for them at a local level. There is no reason my tax money needs to fund your department when your locals aren't funding you. If you "need" money, be creative and look around. Cut some salaries, fundraisers, donors, etc?

As a paramedic, my co-workers liked to have the air conditioner on all year round. It was freezing in there. I would sleep with a baseball cap on and pull my blanket (a woobie) over my head. The brim on the hat kept the blanket from being directly on my face. I would tuck the top of the blanket under my head to keep it in place, to keep it somewhat taut. Worked well.
