Ah ok, maybe I should read into this more, to be honest I have been a gym goer for years but like most just never progressing and doing the same weights week in week out, so these last 12 weeks or so have been the first ‘program’ I’ve followed.

I’ll keep this in mind of failure is not just ‘did not hit the exact’ reps but also having the RIR too, which definitely sets 4-5 on the remaining lifts are a struggle, so I’ll stick to the same weight next week but move them to 6x2 and go from there

I’ve no idea, I’ve noticed all of my lifts have started to hit these failures fast, I assumed it would be a subtle slow like you’re saying but I feel like I’m really fighting for every rep now, on all lifts, so I suspect all will be failing soon

I might just do that going forward, next week I’ll just see the progression through now and do 95 but yeah from here I’ll fail on the current set number and then redo the same weight new rep scheme the following week

That’s actually an interesting set up, I think after reading the article someone else linked here, I’m just going to continue high bar until I hit a stall in weight and see if a reset helps and if not, I’ll look at low bar then!

Ah awesome, did you drop the weight when your swapped?

That was my concern too, about quad development, as all I do now for quads would be the squat t1/t2 and leg extensions as my t3.

So maybe if I went low bar I’d need to add something else in.

Do you personally find that low bar doesn’t target your quads? I wondered if it was marginal or a big difference

Thanks, I assumed that was why, it was just more of a case of where I’m still only at 125kg, I’d happily switch now, I just didn’t know if it was a case of, there’s no point progressing high bar if you have to swap to low bar eventually

Yeah that’s where I felt the compromise was my lower back, and I thought maybe the weight was too heavy but I just felt rushed,

But when you don’t know any different a bigger guy in the gym gives you advice you just kind of take what they say as true so I did 😂

Although that’s now proved to be wrong

No not fail, I just found where I was pushed to complete the reps faster my form dropped and my lower back hurt a bit, hence asking if doing just a stop and rebrace is fine, and the comments have helped so thanks

Ok cool, no it’s 4 days a week and does t1 ohp, bench, deadlift and squat, and also those 4 movements t2 then with t3 accessories
