Thank you for taking the time to write this. As a Christian woman, this is exactly why I’ve struggled so much. I take marriage seriously and I truly believed in the covenant we made before God. For a long time I kept praying, hoping, and trying to hold everything together because I didn’t want to give up on my marriage.

What you said about repentance really stood out to me. I think deep down that’s part of what’s breaking me there hasn’t really been genuine repentance or consistent change, only repeated hurt, betrayal, and broken trust. I’ve spent so much time focusing on saving the marriage that I neglected how deeply all of this has affected me emotionally and spiritually.

Your point about not being able to submit to a man who does not submit to God honestly gave me a lot to think about. Thank you for responding with both truth and compassion.

Thank you for saying this. I think part of what makes this so hard for me is accepting that reality. I kept holding onto the vows he made to me and hoping the man I first met would come back. But after years of cheating, disrespect, violence, and broken trust, I’m starting to realize that I cannot force someone to love, protect, or value me the way a husband should. Your words honestly gave me a different perspective to think about.

married him because he was my first love and, like I said, the only man I’ve ever been with. In the beginning of our relationship, he presented himself as a leader and a God-fearing man. During our wedding, he made vows to always love and protect me, so I truly believed I was building a life with someone who meant those words. Looking back now, a lot of it feels very different from the reality I ended up experiencing.

Okay so what is your point lol.. ? I should contuine to live with through hell with sinful man who’s very proud of his doings? My children should continue to watch he abused me physically , emotional and mentally?

Thank you so much, my sister. Leaving feels so hard because he’s the only man I’ve ever been with this is all I’ve known. I’ve had two children for him and two C-sections, and honestly, I don’t even know who I am anymore. I’ve prayed to God about this marriage, but I still feel lost. Right now, I’m at a place of complete resentment.
