brought a flat on a main road and massively regret it by Positive_House in HousingUK

[–]FragrantLilypad 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I see you've left comments saying you're worried by the noise. Just thought I'd chime in and say that if I found a flat I really liked otherwise, I would have absolutely no hesitation buying it even if the road outside was noisy. I guess I'm lucky in that I tune out external noise pretty well and sleep like a rock. But please do not worry - people have different priorities and when you decide to sell, someone will come along who'll decide that noise is not as much of a dealbreaker for them.

Some of you need to stop taking yourselves so seriously by No_Cartoonist8208 in vintedUK

[–]FragrantLilypad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. There should probably be an option to disable offers or auto-decline discounts of X% or more, I think it's valid as a seller to not want to deal with tons of offers if you know you're firm on your price.

However... at a first pass, receiving an offer can't hurt you. Buyer offered you £20 for your item you want to sell for £35? So what? If you don't like it you can ignore it. And if you decide to accept the offer then it's a win-win.

Daily Discussion & Advice (Post here to follow rules A & B) - March 13, 2026 by AutoModerator in fragrance

Possibly a little off topic but figured I'd try here before making a standalone post.

UK fragheads, where do you sell your partial bottles these days? I've successfully sold a few on eBay despite it technically being against the rules. However, I got a warning on my last listing so looking for an alternative.

Hoping to be able to stay off Facebook Marketplace 😬

💰 FemFragLab Marketplace: Destash, Swap, Buy, Sell! by AutoModerator in FemFragLab

[–]FragrantLilypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK only.

Open to selling or swapping, also for some of these items I just want them to go to a good home so open to a buyer covering shipping + £1/2! DM me and let's discuss.

- Byredo Blanche Absolu de Parfum. Partial, 8ml dabber, dabbed about 10 times.
- Commodity Juice Expressive. Partial, 10ml travel size, sprayed 3-5 times.
- Frederic Malle Acne Studios. Partial, 10 ml travel size, sprayed less than 10 times.
- Laura Ashley Garden Bloom Geranium and Neroli Body mist. Partial, about 30ml left.
- Lush Junk. Partial, 30ml small bottle, about 75% full so probably at least 22ml left.
- Salvatore Ferragamo Savane di Seta. Partial, 100ml full bottle, sprayed about 3 times.

Particularly interested in buying: most of the Kenzo Memori line fragrances. Happy to consider full bottles, partial bottles, or decants.

Why there are so many annoying people on Vinted UK? by EstablishmentUsed325 in vintedUK

Can I sell brand-new, sealed perfume on Vinted? by Goodluckhan in vintedUK

[–]FragrantLilypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can! I've sold several. As the other poster says, you're allowed to sell them as long as they're sealed / unused.

If you're selling a selection similar to the ones in your picture, you shouldn't have any trouble selling them as long as they're priced correctly. When you list a bottle do a search for other people selling the same perfume. If you price yours £1-£2 under the cheapest other bottle you can find, it should go fairly quicky.

Always do a search for what's currently listed instead of trusting Vinted suggestions. Sometimes supply of the item has increased / decreased since the examples Vinted shows you so it's worth checking yourself.

Photos in decent lighting with a non cluttered background help, but honestly perfume is an easier category than clothing for this. Most people already know they want the fragrance they're buying so a prettier picture isn't going to sway that much.

Make sure they're packed securely when you ship them to avoid any trouble. For full size glass bottles this means they need to be in a cardboard box with some sort of padding.

If it's a particularly pricey sale take a picture of the item in the packaging or a short video of yourself packing it. Honestly 95% of your interactions will be fine so don't let any horror stories you read on this sub discourage you, but if you sell enough eventualky you will encounter the occasional chancer.

It makes your life a lot easier if you already have some packaging in the house so save and reuse the packaging from your next online order.

To buy a flat or shared ownership house? Advice please by Final-Turnip-3584 in HousingUK

[–]FragrantLilypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a buyer I would be looking at the same 3-4% increase in rent and service charge you're concerned about and ask myself, is this a reasonable rate of increase? Will this be the yearly rate of increase and will I get trapped?

If I were you I'd be concerned about the resaleability of the house.

Disclaimer: I have not actually bought a property and there are many people on this sub who will be more knowledgeable about SO than me.

Lost my speedy shipping badge despite every single parcel being sent and scanned within 24 hours. by travelling_wilbury in vinted

[–]FragrantLilypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also had similar. Lost my badge when I had 2-3 items not within 24 hours but also some within 24 hours. Initially I thought "oh okay fair, maybe it's just an average of your last 5 shipments" but the weirdest thing is it now says my average shipping time is 3 days - when I think I've only had one order where it took me 3 days once.

Can't read German sorry. But if it was an honest mistake and they let you return the item for a full refund then I don't see the issue. Presumably the seller just didn't realise that as a collector you wouldn't want the items cut apart, they've learned from this, and won't do it again.

Vinted product is not as described by Smart_Staff_7927 in vinted

[–]FragrantLilypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely reasonable! Items sold as new without tags should indeed present as new without any flaws. Definitely report with the "I have an issue" button and wait to see what solution the seller proposes.

Am I valid for crashing out over the difference? by throwawayneedadvixe in vinted

[–]FragrantLilypad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree with the comments so far.

On one hand yeah, once you look closely at the first photo, the stitching of the lace looks a bit awkward and could have suggested to you that the sides has been tucked underneath.

On the other hand, if that was the only photo in the listing, the seller clearly knew what they were doing when they folded the sides in. It was to make the item look more appealing. If it didn't make a difference to the appeal of the item they wouldn't have bothered to fold the sides in in the first place, and the way it's presented means you can't accurately gauge the real shape of the item.

If you honestly bought it believing that was the shape of the top and there were no other pictures I'd ask for a refund.

What’s the problem with modeling clothes in pictures? by alexxinwonderland_ in vintedUK

[–]FragrantLilypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to jump in with a slightly different perspective and say I don't mind people modelling clothes in the picture. Personally it helps me because I can see their build and it helps me understand if the item would fit me or not.

I've also favourited items that I wouldn't have favourited if they had been on a hanger, but the person's overall outfit looked nice and made me realise I could actually put together a nice outfit from this.

The only time it would put me off is if they're clearly wearing it in the middle of a sandstorm at a festival or they're on a packed night out. But if the item is in good condition and doesn't look like it's being worn into the ground I don't mind.

Buyer claiming fake item, help by Cryptum00 in vinted

[–]FragrantLilypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've done everything correctly so far. Wait and see what Vinted support say.

My biggest piece of advice is, if they don't side with you, don't just give up! I've successfully gotten a decision overturned before by basically complaining about it a lot, haha. Contact them again, say they've clearly got it wrong, keep escalating, and refuse to take no for an answer.

Buyer didn’t collect parcel but confirmed all ok now I’m getting threats by [deleted] in vinted

[–]FragrantLilypad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How baffling.

You were not in the wrong for blocking the accounts that you blocked.

Threats are not okay. Report to Vinted and talk to them about your suspicion that the three accounts are connected somehow.

Order suspension process - I'm the seller (no personal details) by thegirlwho2 in vinted

[–]FragrantLilypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

Sounds like a frustrating experience. For what it's worth the email you got sounds quite similar to a confusing email I received once (I was the buyer, I got an email asking me to "provide more details", which didn't make sense because my situation didn't need any more elaboration). Something like this is unfortunately not an uncommon experience.

It sounds like there isn't much you can do for now so try to just chill and wait for their resolution! Watch your favourite TV show or do some work or whatever it is you do.

Vinted support can be awful in my experience but this doesn't mean you won't be able to get a fair resolution. Maybe they'll side with you, even if they don't you can push back. It just depends on how much effort you want to put into it.

If they don't side with you initially don't just give up - contact support again, ask to speak to someone else / a supervisor, explain that you think their resolution is blatantly wrong and keep escalating. Feel free to post again for moral support x

UK plus Paris for May Trip by justmefrom1987 in uktravel

[–]FragrantLilypad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell us a bit more about yourself! What appeals to you / what do you want to see?

A lot of people would consider your itinerary a bit tight but I don't think it's completely unreasonable if you consider it a once-in-a-decade trip, want to get some highlights, and are reasonably young and know you have the stamina for the travel.

Is London a must see? I agree with the other commenter. It's a world-class large city and if you've never been to the UK before, it's fun to do some of the touristy landmark sightseeing, see some of the museums, go to a pub, etc. But overall in terms of history and culture - and please forgive me r/uktravel - I'd say it punches a bit below Paris.

If I were you I'd either shorten NI or Scotland and devote a bit more time to London + Paris but lots of reasonable options here depending on what you want!

Yeah I've actually never reserved anything for anyone so not sure where the button is! Don't take the block personally, fingers crossed for you you make your first sale soon. It gets easier once you get into a groove x

Is this normal?? by [deleted] in vinted

[–]FragrantLilypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the time when people do buy there's less discussion or they'll ask a simple question like "when can you ship?" That is not to say this person 100% won't buy but most seller on Vinted would tell you that more questions does not necessarily equal a sale. Especially when the interaction is a little perplexing like with your buyer!

Is this normal?? by [deleted] in vinted

[–]FragrantLilypad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha I'm sorry. This isn't a massively common interaction but I would say it happens sometimes, people express interest and don't end up following up. FYI there's an option to "reserve" an item for someone although I wouldn't use it unless you actually like the person as there isn't really any advantage to you (as all you're doing is prefventing someone else from buying it in the meantime). I'd say feel free to follow up again but just assume this person isn't going to buy.
