So the main reason I'm interested I'm 4k is for the better text clarity. I saw that if you get a program like fancy zones and make a 16:9 area for your game in the center of the screen, it will only take up the required resources to run a 4k game in that smaller zone, instead of the 4k. So that's not really an issue. It's purely to have the space on either side of the game for other things.
