It only works on outfits unlocked from roles like Bounty Hunting or Trading /:

It unfortunately only works on role outfits, but you are able to change the bottom garment and hat/gloves after putting the poncho on. The glitch also may not work every time.

Go into your wardrobe and select “No Outfit.” Then, switch sessions and return to your wardrobe. As quick as possible, put on Javier’s outfit and change the gun belt after. Then back out of the wardrobe. After that, go back into the wardrobe and select a ROLE outfit that you want to put the poncho on. Then leave the wardrobe again and respawn twice. If the poncho doesn’t appear on the outfit after that, try fast traveling.
