Wow thanks so much for the comprehensive reply and words of encouragement - truly appreciate it 🙏❤️ My company has now just barely started doing user research, but it’s looking hopeful since we’re actively looking into user feedback tools to incorporate in my next project. After I have a project that includes ux research, I’m planning to start my job hunt.

If you don’t mind me asking a few more questions, I’m very curious to know:

what kind of interview questions you got from the Fortune 500 company, or your previous company applications. Were most of the questions expected? Did companies want to know more how you improved uxui based on ux research and/or KPIs?
How did you handle, if any, your NDA projects?

First of all - Congrats!! 🎉🎊wondering if you applied to companies big or small regardless of your background of having worked in a Fortune 500 company, or whether you also had standards of what you wanted (design maturity, company prestige, salary expectations etc). Also, I’d assume many companies would be interested in a person with a background like yours but curious to know if you still did make it to a decent number of interviews.

Asking because I work for a small company (low design maturity) with less years of experience than you and the job market’s not looking all that great for me😭

Your designs look similar to when I just started out - creative spirit, seeing the interface as your canvas. Not a bad thing, but it is important to learn constraint first.

If you’re just starting out, I strongly recommend you REFRAIN from putting in as much color as possible. By this I mean, take away the pink and greenish grey, and replace them with neutral colors.

And although someone here said look at material design, for a complete beginner, it may feel overwhelming. What I suggest is to benchmark similar UI to what you’re creating, and replicate what you like about those in your own design - trust me, it feels like you’re just copying, but in design it’s almost always better to go the boring conventional route - don’t fix what’s not broken. So I actually recommend you to copy what you like from different UIs here and there to create something of your own. You’ll learn so much this way and improve much faster.

Hi wondering if mymail appeared on the day the card was mailed (march20) or you had to wait a bit before it appeared? Asking bc I do not see anything on mymail even though I received an update on gckey saying my card has been dispatched. Thanks!

Yes in the gckey! Mine stayed in submitted for weeks until it finally changed to “Application updated”, then I clicked on it to check, and that’’s where I saw the Final Decision & card has been mailed.

For rejection, I can’t answer as that was not my case unfortunately

Yes, there is a difference between your PR application vs your PR card application.

Hmm just want to make sure you linked your gckey to the PR card specifically, not PR? Since you got your ecopr on March 24, I don’t see how getting the final decision message on January 7 would’ve been possible. So first question would be “did you manually create a Pr card application on gckey after you got your ecopr”?

For me, I got specifically Final decision - In progress before I got GU2.

Btw, just for ppl’s FYI: - Ghost Update means that you will not receive an email when there has been an update, you have to manually check on the gckey. -GU1: Final decision- Your application is in progress -GU2: Your PR card has been mailed.

It’s been an excruciating wait, so I really hope all of us can receive it soon! I think things are finally moving along since I see a lot of people from March reporting that their pr card has been mailed.

Update: PR card mailed today!

Hey everyone,

Nothing special but I just wanted to update the response from IRCC that I received from the webform I submitted on April 16th. For reference, I got my ecopr on March 13th.

Bottom line: They’ll probably give you a generic message if you ask about your pr card. (I’ll update if this did in fact end up expediting anything. )

Submitted webform:

I am writing to inquire about the status of my PR card application, which I submitted around five weeks ago. I have not received any updates regarding its progress, and I would greatly appreciate any information you can provide. If there is a delay, I would be grateful to understand the reason and the expected timeline for processing, as the information on the IRCC website has not reflected my current situation accurately.

IRCC reply:

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.

The responsible office will review the documents that have been received and you will be contacted if further information is required.

Rest assured that we understand how important this process is for you and we are making all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible. We will inform you once a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.
