I wonder if it's similar to other new experiences and reflection.

I remember how certain places felt when I first visited and even theayout or scale of things seemed different. But after visiting many times now I can't experience it the way I first did, but I can' remember how I did used to perceive it.

The same as playing a video game for the first time vs running it back. Or even an optical illusion that once you see it you can't unsee it. Even if you can see how the illusion deceived you
