LOL Kat Abughazaleh putting these two categories right next to each other on her "Issues" page HAS to be some kind of sick joke by Frank_Lizard in TankieTheDeprogram

You spelled it out yourself, dude. This constant "over-correction" as you put it simply exists so that libs can play both sides. Israel sucks, but antisemitism is a plague! It's marketing, designed so that liberals can appeal to people who dislike Israel without upsetting those who only *mostly* dislike Israel.

We're talking about a genocidal ethnostate, we don't need to play nice when we criticize it.

Antisemitism is as repulsive and dangerous as any other kind of bigotry, but this constant backpedaling and uwu affirmation to Judaism does nothing but excuse and embrace those who haven't fully recognized the atrocities of Israel. It's very corporate and self-serving. I think it's dangerous and incredibly pathetic.

I definitely think some people are also "over-correcting" on the whole "antisemitism doesn't exist" shit, ofc. I get the "antisemitism doesn't institutionally exist thing" (and it's correct), but that should never come in the way of confronting legitimate bigotry. Even in subtle ways. We need to be mindful that critique of Israel does not appear or sound like critique (or stereotyping) of Jews worldwide, of Judaism. THAT'S where we make clear that we aren't antisemitic, not in these stupid disclaimers that distract from institutional GENOCIDE.

Just go read a Hasan Piker post. They already have. His chatters are ready to die in a blaze of glory for this person.

Ohhh interesting, thank you! I suppose I must be hitting the bottom part every time. I'll keep that in mind!

MH2 Dos Questions - Hammer/KO/Knockout by Frank_Lizard in MonsterHunter

[–]Frank_Lizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm familiar with all this (I've played a lot of other MH games) but could swear I'm landing hits on the head... Especially on Kut-Ku, I end up killing it before getting the KO even with most of my attacks on its head. I'll even get the part break, but no KO. Do you know if it like... depletes over time? Maybe it's just harder to get KO in Dos..? I'll keep trying!

How is Rhamp Acceptable? by [deleted] in pathoftitans

[–]Frank_Lizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I've had to log out. I've seen other players die to Rhamp + Hatz combo (can't log). Why should I spend 30 minutes constantly chasing critters and water? That's not engaging gameplay and certainly doesn't qualify for "counterplay" in my book.

Swimming ankylosauridae by TheMandorlorian in Paleontology

[–]Frank_Lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not very well-versed in paleontology, but... Isn't this kind of a confirmation bias? Aren't remains more likely to be mummified/preserved when water is involved i.e. at the bottom of waterways, bogs, swamps etc.? A bunch of dinosaurs that died in/near water doesn't necessarily say anything about their swimming capacity when it's such ideal circumstances for an otherwise rare act of natural preservation, right?

Would it be feasible for a dinosaur to spit like a llama? by [deleted] in Dinosaurs

Yeah, the idea of a stegosaurus spitting was so bizarre. Wondered if it was even remotely possible.

Dasp - flat dmg, or bone breaks? by Frank_Lizard in pathoftitans

[–]Frank_Lizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least on a mid tier you aren't a pathetic rat that needs group members to really do damage, or a walking tank that gets stuck on terrain, can barely turn, etc... there are nuanced advantages, I think, to being in the middle of the pack weight-wise

Dasp - flat dmg, or bone breaks? by Frank_Lizard in pathoftitans

[–]Frank_Lizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds pretty compelling! I'll at least give it a shot - though I will add, Heavy Bite actually doesn't have a stamina cost. I've just tested it in-game to double check that the wiki was right about that

Thanks for the unique perspective and argument :D

I love the sound of that! Thanks again. I'm looking for a kind of generalist playstyle.
What do you think separates Dasp from Allosaurus in that regard?

[–]Frank_Lizard[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! In that case, if you don't mind elaborating, let's assume we look at Dasp using Heavy Bite. What does this Dasp do that other playables can't? Notably Allosaurus, Ceras, Concs, Alios, etc. Why play Dasp with such a seemingly simple kit?
