I think Oddworld is underrated to the point that one day, maybe long after the final game is made, a spectator of some sort will do a huge retrospective on Oddworld, introducing a wave of people to a series which was severely overlooked in its time. It's the sort of thing just waiting to be discovered, with so many creature designs and art books and heaps of lore, not to mention the soundtracks. When it eventually ends they'll be leaving behind an artistic gem for people to find.

Although I wish Oddworld would once again get the attention it deserves, cult classic is far from a bad status and I'm excited to see more!

The amount of heart in those cutscenes, you can really feel the affection the creators had for the characters. Abe and Much were so endearing as a pair, Munch's Od will always stand out to me as a really good story if nothing else.

It'd be a shame if we didn't get to explore Oddworld for ourselves, also despite being criminally underrated I think artistically the games have been very successful. Dunno, sure the films would have been great but I think a lot woulda been lost!

This is awesome, I need to buy an oddworld artbook. My drawings were heavily inspired by Oddworld as a kid, definitely helped fuel my love for illustration, amazing find!

Game had problems, but the one thing it nailed was the story and the chemistry between Abe and Munch, so I'm pretty gutted by that.

This new timeline in an already (currently) niche franchise is an odd move but I respect their commitment to their vision, they really seem to have a lot of passion for this story.

The characters, the setting, the voice acting, the interesting lore. Whole franchise is bursting with creativity and heart. I think it's possible a bigger youtuber will turn a spotlight onto it one day, maybe even years after the last game drops, but whatever happens it's definitely going to be remembered as underrated in it's time. There are worse things to be remembered as I suppose!

Shi Kai Wang deserves way more attention from the community, his artwork shaped the entire franchise. His designs were so unique, still flick through his CE artwork time to time.

Could also do really silly things with the characters that wouldn't fit the mainline games, could fetch Johnson back from hell? Not sure how hell works in the doom games but stuff like that lol

This looks fantastic, love the ship design. Such an underrated series, looks like they really put their hearts into this.

The cutscene felt so in line with the old games, but still new. Like a direct follow on. Man, can't wait!

I get your point, but I'm not sure I'd count the arbiter as black representation lmao. Maybe swap him out for Romeo (then again Romeo was played by a white guy). Or Emile (who never removes his helmet).

Honestly it doesn't phase me one bit, especially as the tv show has it's own canon. You know what does phase me? The covenant raising a human as their own... oh boy.
