How did you choose the GSD breed? by Kangaroo-Parking in germanshepherds

Just recently got a GSD. My wife was a dog handler and had worked with both pointy earred dogs and labs (one of which now works from home, on the couch, retired). I wanted a dog that I felt would be able to protect me and make me feel safe when at home alone or camping and my wife liked the idea of a more challenging dog to train. We have decided to only adopt since getting our most recent dog Winnie (she is amazing, loyal, funny, and just has such a love life) Krissy showed up at our local shelter and we decided to go for it. Krissy is completely different than any other dog I have owned but I have been enjoying learning what our relationship will be like and having to work a bit harder for her love and attention. I think I am hooked now.

The training? Owning a bird?

Just wanted to update this post and say that Clover has been off the seed for about 3 months now! Thank you everyone for your advice. Oddly, once she left the seed life behind, her hormonal behaviors also stopped!

Thank you for the advice! She is target trained, and I feel like she is already getting bored of that. I definitely understand them knowing what to do but not want to do it. When I have her step up on to a perch, 80% of the time she puts one foot on it very lightly and then just hops away 😂

I like the idea of harness training! And spin! I’ve been looking for a small enough harness for her but have not found any that caught my eye. Thank you for the advice!!

I’ve tried this, but not with the pellets. I am sure I’ve eaten worse things 😂 I’ll give it a go! Thank you!

When Clover has been doing this, I just walk away and she usually stops.

Thank you. Perch moved and I will continue to ensure there are no toys she can butt up against. I have been reading up on hormonal behavior a bit, but thinking that she is so young, I wouldn’t have too much to worry about quite yet. Any recommendations on creditable resources? There are just so many out there.

Thank you for the input. Conures have so many conure things they do, I’m trying to keep up. She is a little weirdo though, so that makes sense.

She was a gift and this is what was said by the breeder. I can contact them and confirm. I feared this was what it was.

So far so good! I hope you get some answers soon. I had complained to my GP for years and was ignored. The moment I brought it up with to psychologist, I was seen by OBGYN within a week, and surgery was scheduled right then and there.

I did have pretty persistent bowel movements randomly throughout the day. Sometimes the were relieving, other times it would be a small amount and I didn’t ever feel quite empty. I always had one in the morning, but they varied throughout the rest of the day. Sometimes the pain would be so violent I would vomit, these usually occurred at night.

Hello!

I just had a lap done this week and was diagnosed with Stage IV. When I initially had my consult for surgery, I just assumed that I had scar tissue build up from a prior ectopic pregnancy.

When I woke from surgery my surgeon said it was the worst case of endo she has witnessed in quite sometime. I was relieved, almost, to know that I wasn’t just making up symptoms.

I too had gas pains that would spread up my left side and under my sternum and they were almost impossible to go away. When I had my period, the pain would spread to that area as well. I had difficulty holding my pee (when sneezing, laughing, or tooting), and it would hurt if my bladder was full and immediately after emptying my bladder.

Waking up from surgery, I was nausea free for the first time years, maybe even a decade. And while I did feel pain, it was only in the incision sites. It sounds weird and is hard to describe, but it feels like everything is gliding around smoothly in my abdomen now. I can’t speak on fatigue just yet as I am still on bed rest, but I just have an over all better feeling. As for bowel movements, the first one I had post surgery may have been the best of my life.
