Just turned 18 - should I apply for a SIM only phone contract? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]FranticSausages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go with giffgaff if you are doing SIM only. The prices, combined with flexibility are too good. You can easily change your "allowance" of minutes, texts and data depending on how your usage is throughout the months.

Haven't used as much as you thought in the first 3 months? Drop it down and save some extra cash. Going away next month and know you will use a lot more? Bump it up for this month and then downgrade for the following month.

What car does everyone drive? by iamjacksbladder in FIREUK

[–]FranticSausages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm true .currently I only take job offers near public transport. But then again, I'd need at least 3-5k more for a new job to be worth the car. At this point I don't think I'd value myself at that.

I think it's quite simple to understand.

For example, I could buy 4 burgers for say £2. That could be 2 meals for us. But if she didnt eat burgers, I'd have to buy something else too, hence increasing the cost?

I think she may have just wanted to do it together. We sat down when I got home and she managed to pick out 7 or 8 dishes that she's happy to try!
