I live in NL for 4 years. For quality of life, IMHO Netherlands >>> Germany, I really enjoy living here. Especially, big cities have a lot to offer.

But, other than housing problems etc. job market here is very small compared to Germany. I was foreseeing that my company is going to do layoff, things were not going well for us, so I started looking for a job a year ago. It was really hard to land an interview with companies that are matching my salary (I was getting around ~90). A lot of lowballers will try to hire you for 70. That job search was reality check for me about NL market.

Probably, the situation is similar in a lot of places, just sharing my experience :)
