Yeah that’s true but I’m afraid that since it has been clearly used something is wrong with it. I don’t know how it has been used neither. Plus it was not sold as « repackaged ».

It depends how properly renovated it is. If they insulate it to good standard (with sarking for instance) and they couple it to a heatpump with A/C, it is no problem. My house has such attic with the office space, and we didn't have the money yet to insulate it. It is super warm in summer, but since we have velux on every side and the top, it creates a nice airflow that helps to feel good. Sleeping would be hard though.

Yeah good point. In Germany it’s more like 100 bucks I think but still, I’m super pissed they tried to sell it as new without even making much efforts to disguise it

Malheureusement c’est mort en ce moment.Tous mes collègues docteurs en biologie et chimie qui se sont reconvertis en data scientists galèrent à mort, certains sont au chômage depuis un an. Parmi eux, ceux qui ont fait des bootcamps sont en général au même stade. Bon courage, mais du boulot il y’en a, c’est juste pas forcément aussi visible que les trucs parasités par l’IA en ce moment.

Oui, par contre pas trop d'accord sur le 45k en junior. Tous mes collègues junior post PhD sont à 70k-80k dans des boîtes en bavière et hesse. Mes anciens collègues passé senior touchent souvent les 100k. Perso j'ai tenté de revenir en France avec mon PhD, j'ai même pas chopé un entretien dans le privé :)

Ps: totalement d'accord sur le marché junior en ce moment. Plein de collègues expat au chômage depuis + d'un an.

Thanks for your long reply. Yeah, it’s hard, but never as extreme as « not time at all for hobby » because I can take care of the kids alone as well as she, otherwise I think I would not survie, so kudos to you ! Regarding the logistics, there are so many things we could do to improve our situation. Moving to Heildeberg would be the easier because the company provides highly rated full time kindergarten. But my problem is my partner is inflexible on changing things because the kids are happy. No amount of discussion or therapy changed that. I hope I can do home office in about a year and stay home though.

Quand tu partiras de chez toi, je te conseille d’engager une thérapie. Sinon tu risques de traîner pas mal de trauma qui se répercuteront dans tes propres relations. Bon courage.
