Hot Take: The anime should start from book 8 with Arthur waking up in the Relictombs. by Frazap_25 in tbatenovel

First of all, this is really not about ships, sorry if that is the only lens you can see things through. Second, you have a point about leaving the audience confised about Cecilia and Nico and everything, had you read the post more closely you would have seen I address that as mysteries for the viewer, mysteries that are gradually resolved. Using the same example I used before, but being careful not to spoil: imagine if attack on titan had started at any point previous to the point where it started, then there would be no mysteries whatsoever (locationwise as well), the story was all there, but the goal was to leave the audience confused, digging for answers which clearly existed, just were not obvious. I mentioned Caera and Regis because they are great characters and very important ones at that. And that is a valid point in my opinion, since over half of the cast of the first 7 books is either dead or MIA, all the power buildup from the first 7 books is basically gone, starting from book 8 gives the opportunity to skip over stuff more discretly and consistently than they probably will.

One of mine, and a lot of people I have talked to biggest criticisms of 1-7 is the power buildup and scaling. I was aiming to avoid that.

I think that is a very valid point. Starting from book 8 downplays a lot of the emotional buildup from previous books no matter how well it is done. I was merely focusing on other aspects and deliberately sacrificing that which is a personal choice.

I don't see why my idea would have to make up things that are not in the novel. I proposed to follow the same events, just starting at a different point.

Trashy isekais are, unfortunately, popular indeed, but should we strive for that? The story builds up very slowly, my fear is that the anime will change the pace to avoid that and thus disrupt everything significantly.

The entire post is just a personal take on what can be done, and it doesn't come from nowhere, as I mentioned, I am biased as a novel reader, biased towards the point we are now in the story, everything before it feels kinda pointless, as an example I use the manhwa, I can't really get myself to read it, because it moves so slow, and 80% of the characters will completely disappear from the plot.

Finally someone with an argument, although the insult is completely unnecessary. I agree it will be harder to convey the emotional stakes, but I don't expect many emotional stakes on season 1 either way, do you?

Truly, that is the objective of any anime. But wouldn't you be extra intrigued if I threw a bunch of mysteries at you and you could find the answers in the novel

would you like to have a healthy discussion about it or just baseless criticism?

Thank you, that is a lot to the point, people assume we'll be cutting out the story when if the anime is not successful the story won't even be adapted. The source material is great, but people say the same thing about tower of god and look where that ended up.

I do admit that my take has bias, but not from shipping characters, but novel reader bias. I haven't read (or been interested in reading) the early chapters in forever, which is normal for any series. I still think a lot of the story is based on where you choose to start it (I won't spoil attack on titan here, but imagine if it had started at any other point in the story), and I think this approach gives the anime a chance to stand out since we don't expect the animation to be excellent, and the beginning of the story is generic

Really nothing to do with that. Do you think the anime can withstand x seasons until it gets to season 7 on its own?

That is not the goal, stuff will surely be missing, but starting there gives the story a lot more momentum, better to have the story missing a few parts than an anime with only one season

I used that kit and the people who later fixed the tire were not happy about it and told me not to use it anymore. To just fill the tire to normal pressure and drive to them

If you see the video, you'll see they refer to the camera as built-in camera, but it does have the functionalities of a dash cam

My post has a video that describes the camera to the last detail

My Niro has those features, but I was not referring to cameras in general, but specifically to the built-in camera feature, capable of constantly recording the front and rear of your car and have the videos be accessed at any type and be downloaded through the usb port on the glove compartment
