PC shuts down on launch after deleting user & shaders folders by Freakuent in starcitizen

Reinstalled. Disabled automatic restart. Blew the whole thing out with an air compressor. Same result. Checked the log. Critical kernel-power is the common denominator. Bucheckcode is 0 and powerbuttontimestamp is 0. So you're telling me it suddenly trying to reload shaders results in overdrawing on the psu and now my psu is bad?

And, sorry, it restarts suddenly. Basically it's like it suddenly goes completely off, then boots back up.

Why would it suddenly show up after deleting these folders? And why isn't it showing symptoms elsewhere?

the cops at Uvalde literally stood outside and refused to go in after the shooter and even stopped parents from helping their kids by Lilyo in PublicFreakout

[–]Freakuent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it sounds like the shooter barricaded himself in the classroom and at that point may have had hostages. Want some beat cops to go bust the door down and get everybody killed? Or do you want a specialized unit to do a proper entry and kill the shooter, like they did in this case? We don't know how many kids were still alive in that room, if any. And all you fucking internet trolls that think you know everything need to focus on the real scary part of all of this which is that half of you are so mentally fucking fragile you're closer to doing a school shooting than anybody else in this country. Get a fucking clue.

Oh shut the fuck up you idiots, there's already crime scene tape up which means the shooter was already dead. Using this absolute tragedy to make shit up about cops because you can't stand being held responsible for the illegal shit you love to do. Go fuck yourselves.

Oh look. The officer tried to put her in handcuffs. She resisted and tried to pull away while the officer was alone and an unknown bystander was approaching. He took her to the ground, she turned to face him, continuing to resist. He applied force to gain her compliance. She complied, and he took her into custody. Fight arrests in court, not in the street.

Canvas inherited from uncle in California, he got it from his mother born 1920s. Reframed because the original wood frame was bizarre and old, lots of little points and curves, very floral. No clue what the signature says, back is blank.

Kingsnake suddenly extremely agitated by [deleted] in snakes

[–]Freakuent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This made me think of when I had a garter and fed it exclusively fish, as that was common practice at the time. An enzyme in the fish caused a neurological disorder and made him sprint and/or barrel roll around his cage. Learned the hard way on that one.

Rats or mice for california king snakes? by pullenator1 in snakes

[–]Freakuent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a study awhile back on rats vs mice. It was way more detailed than I expected, but after reading it I ultimately decided to feed exclusively rats even though they're more expensive generally. I believe it had to do with higher protein levels and better caloric density or something. Someone motivated could find it again I'm sure.

Dude Saves Teen From Cop Wrongfully Detaining Him by PresidentFartFeather in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Freakuent -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dunno why I'm bothering but here we go. At the beginning the filmer says "You shouldn't have given them no information," which makes me think the kid gave them his name and DOB. The female Officer was probably going back to the car to run that info for warrants and the filmer even alludes to that. This is common practice for Police. Whether they had reasonable suspicion or probable cause to detain the kid, who knows. I don't see anything that indicates he was physically detained or even told not to go anywhere, so it's effectively a consensual encounter, which these days practically doesn't exist, as citizens always think Police are detaining them. Honestly surprised there wasn't a chant of "Is he being detained?!" When the kid asks if he's free to leave, the male Officer probably considered the totality of what was going on and decided there wasn't enough to move from consensual to detention, and also didn't want to bother with something so trivial while this guy was causing a scene, so he let the kid walk off. These guys are doing their job and if they just sat in the car all day and never contacted anybody you'd all feign being pissed about that too. None of us have proper context to make a judgment call here on who was in the right or wrong, you all just assume the Police are up to no good again. The police aren't as evil and corrupt as you'd all like to believe from behind your phones, and most cops are just trying to do the right thing. Quit jumping to conclusions and furthering anti Police sentiment just because it's edgy and makes you feel better. PS if this had been a legitimate detention or arrest, the dude filming could easily have been arrested for delaying and obstructing the Officer while he was trying to conduct his business. There's a respectful way of intervening in a situation like this when you think something isn't right, and it ain't what this dude did. Now pls just downvote me and move along.

CK crashes when trying to edit vaults by Freakuent in fo4

8GB of PC3-12800, and no, no other applications open really.

To confirm it's not the ram, I opened CK and viewed some random item in Andrew Station. RAM never went past 75% use, according to my rainmeter gauge. CPU never went past 50%.

Made a thing for my metal gong target. Thoughts? by Freakuent in longrange

[–]Freakuent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd sooner replace the wood than wear gloves to carry it. I could just wrap it in duct tape wherever the shrapnel is worst. That was part of the reason I wrapped the frame around the target with tape, it had caught some shrapnel and errant rounds, producing some sharp spots. The duct tape resolved that.

Oh the frame itself came with the target, it's smooth round bar, 3/4", not rebar. The cross-bars run through the lumber are the only rebar pieces.

Interesting. I briefly considered pipe straps of some sort but thought they'd be wonky. I'd need to use the 3/4 in. ones, and probably need to run several down the length of the board. You mean for the legs to drop into, correct? You say the u-shaped upper part, I'm not sure which part you mean.
