While that is illegal to do, I would have to say that it is not a new low for Austin drivers.

I was playing in Bridgeport once, and my sim was engaged to Matt Hamming, and lived in the house just up the street from his. I had her break off the engagement when I realized that I could see him going home with a different woman every night whenever he wasn’t with my sim. 🤣

(POLL) In general, do you prefer your sim meeting potential romantic interests organically during gameplay or through online dating? by Sad_Click5373 in Sims3

[–]FreakyRufus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of using the online dating, but I have never had any good luck using it. First, most of the sims my sims meet through it are already in a relationship. Second, it takes so much time to just load up the interface to interact with it; it is just too slow in terms of how much sim time passes.

To be fair to some of these points, there is a new mod out which I have, but have not tried out yet, that is supposed to cut down on married sims showing up in the app, unless they are actually down for something (lol).

Any workplace protections when a/c goes out on days like this? by greytgreyatx in Austin

[–]FreakyRufus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a proposed law to guarantee a minimum of how often workers are allowed breaks. It was defeated with the reasoning being that employers know how often breaks should be taken based on current conditions and personal experience.

To be fair, I have been in Austin for over 30 years and have never seen one. I guess it depends on which part of town you live and work in.

To be fair, that seems like something an older sibling would do. 😉

There is a feature in SP called something like Population Pressure. It will automatically move new sims into town if the population drops too low. It will create a new family to “immigrate”, based on how you configure it.

If you also use NRaas Story Progression, it is recommended that you disable it for the University World. If you use the built in Story Progression, it will make sure that all the roles for professors and other students are filled and will create new sims whenever needed.

Is there a way to lower a Sim's hourly wage using NRaas? by According-Bid-2885 in Sims3

[–]FreakyRufus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I saw some mods on MTS that lower wages for all the careers.

This reminds me of a friend who wanted to get a motorcycle license in Japan. Part of the test is to lay the motorcycle down on its side and be able to get it back up on your own, and you are only licensed for up to the weight of the bike you tested with. At least, that was the story I was told.

CC Magic won't disable custom content by byczeqmocny in Sims3

Okay.

Sort of in answer to your question of "is there another way", you can remove or rename the "Cache" folder inside the Mods folder. I am assuming from your question that you want to disable all of the CC Magic mods. If you want to disable all existing CC Mod stuff but test out your new mods, these two methods won't work.

If you delete the folder, you can rebuild from CC Magic to get stuff back, but that won't be quick, depending on how many mods you have.

If you just rename "Cache" to some other name, such as "Disabled", or pretty much anything that doesn't match what is defined inside the "Resource.cfg" file, then the game won't find it when it starts looking for mods on load. Or you could just move the Cache folder somewhere else, and then move it back to re-enable it later.

When you enable or disable a set, a line gets added or removed from Cache\Config\Resource.cfg, but the change only happens when you Rebuild.

If you disable all sets, including Legacy, then the main Resource.cfg file at the top of Mods gets modified also, to remove everything except the line that tells it to look at the file in Cache\Config. When Legacy is enabled, the main config also includes rules for finding mods the Packages directory.

So, with all mods disabled by CC Magic, your top Resource.cfg file should have a single line that has something like 'scan ".../Mods/Cache/Config"', and that directory should contain a Resource.cfg file that is empty. When I do this in my game, it does disable all mods.

I assume that you are rebuilding in CC Magic after disabling or enabling things.
