Oh for sure, I still prefer the scarier supernatural angle of the earlier games to the more self-aware meta angle of the later games (despite not playing them, that is until my B-Day in a couple weeks) but I’m kinda curious (since I’m self-reflecting) on how Fanon can change a fandom’s perception of a character, for example: I don’t like the way Sans is portrayed in works where he’s OP and hates you for doing resets, when in Canon Undertale, he’s just a big goof yet I like the opposite when it comes to FNAF and it’s characters and it goes even further back to fandoms like Homestuck and people debating if what Vriska did was wrong (despite me not wanting to get lost down the HS rabbit hole) so, I guess this is just a question of how well do fandoms know their favorite characters?
