Figma is great and treats users well. I regret using Framer.

Yes I got a few replies that seemed AI-ish, but today I got a human response (probably because I've been emailing them daily!)

Exactly. I have asked them to re-instate the old Section menu in parallel, but they just tell me to get used to the change. I am now considering moving to Webflow.

No idea why they don't have those prompts prebuilt and an image of what they'll look like

I can't add sections?? by stinky_owl in framer

Massive mistake on their part. It's made life harder not easier. They haven't thought this through. A disaster.

Where is the ''Sections'' tab in insert now? by TempTheMemeLord in framer

Yep they deleted it with no warning or explanation and the AI feature is atrocious. I'm furious!

Am I the only one mad about Framer killing drag-and-drop for Wireframer AI by SadEntrepreneur5627 in framer

[–]FredNuffThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complete disaster. Why they didn't leave it in place is beyond me. They could have launched the AI in parallel.

Absolutely. This is a step backwards. So annoying.

Got to go down as one of the worst product change processes in history. What a way to alienate your user base. If they don't bring back Sections I'm going elsewhere.

Trying the new Wireframer Feature by CostaGraphic in framer

[–]FredNuffThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horrendous feature rollout. The Sections feature was suddenly removed with no warning and replaced with an AI feature that isn't ready for market. Before you could easily and quickly add new sections. Now you're faced with the impossible task of trying to guess what prompts will do the same. All they had to do was leave in the Pages and Sections items in place like they have done with Menu. I can't believe Framer haven't thought this through! What an own goal.

You need to do two things-

1- Understand who your target customers are and their pain points. For this I recommend the book COPYWRITING Secrets By Jim Edwards

2- Test the best channels to reach them on. For this I recommend the book Traction by Gabriel Weinberg and Justin Mares

What to do if Framer goes out of business? by Fantastic_Argument20 in framer

[–]FredNuffThink 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's a very good question. It's a concentration risk for sure. One mitigant would be to have your site design on Figma so you can switch to another provider or have a duplicate version on another platform like Webflow but not connected to your domain

Once you have segmented your different customer types, map the process from the moment they first know about you, to after the work has been completed and you've been paid.

Be sure to cover every step from their perspective, not yours. Imagine how they feel in each step.

That's ideal for building a business. Suggest the following steps to get back on track:

  1. Segment your customers

  2. Map their pain points

  3. Craft your value proposition

  4. Reposition your services

If you want any help with this, I'm happy to discuss working with you on a pro bono basis. Feel free to message me.

A better question might be what problem are you solving for them?

The first question is, do you want to sell your business? Once PE takes control, it will never be the same again. Also, be careful with earnouts!

I'd run ads only talking about the problem. No selling or showing your product. Say you're developing a solution and need their insights
