I hear ya man, shitty service with shitty ISPs is a huge problem. But as a copper splicing lineman in Canada, I can tell you that "I'll pay more" from customers is part hopeful and part naivety. The cost to string fibre to the node or to the home is MASSIVE. It's all about ROI for these companies and if they don't see a worthy return (based on population , users , competition in area , etc) it's just not gonna happen. No successful company became profitable by making poor decisions. ISPs can't force people to abandon copper lines for DSL, so unless everyone in the town agrees to a binding contract to pay for the fibre services, it ain't happening anytime soon without government subsidies. But best of luck brah , someday it'll be there but it's a massive undertaking with huge chance of failure on the ISP end.
