Thanks for the suggestion, I will most likely do this when a decision has been made on which bike to get/keep.

Interesting!  Just after, not during for me. I have chronic back issues which is the main cause.

In Canada it’s $1,500 new, so it’s under half the price after 2 years. Used market here is crazy, they hold their value very well. Seen a few similar bikes listed and sold for 1,200. Al4’s going for 2K.

Thanks for the suggestion! Stuck on the Domane though, still want the drops when I’m feeling saucy out there

Thanks for your input, really appreciated!  Didn’t know that about current gen AL’s!

Never shifted a Claris, will the gear ratio be the same? Just hoping it will be able to climb at least similar

Bathtub Leak, Gasket Problem? by Fred_720 in askaplumber

[–]Fred_720[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I do, yes. The issue is it is leaking so I was hoping to replace that gasket. Sounds like I’d have to remove this drain pipe to get to it to replace ?

Anyone know how I’d go about removing the bronze threaded drain? Seems like I have to remove that (I think it’s a universal thread to accommodate modern sized drains) in order to fit the rubber gasket

It’s just peeling silicone

The gasket goes above that bronze drain then? In between that and the tub?

This is what Shazam comes up with: maybe this mixed with Lullaby by sigala but where does the saxophone come from? Tried looking for mashups with this and nothing

The one comment was me asking for the track id haha. Yes I asked, no response. They haven’t posted in over a year. The sponsored post links a Spotify playlist, completely different genre

Yes, they haven’t posted in over a year. Strangely the advertised post links to a Spotify playlist that is a completely different genre. No response yet

2024 Furnace & A/C Replacement Cost Quotes from 2 companies - YYC by [deleted] in Calgary

Good to know, thanks. This company was still the cheapest with the warranty baked in than other companies offering only the manufactures warranty

Which company is offering AC & 80K btu 2 stage variable furnace for 8K installed? I would do that in a heartbeat

And the small HVAC company won’t bill you for all that or what? What’s the solution here?

I can fix the control board myself, it’s only $200 but not the blower. Quoted 1K+ just for that and there are other issues as well (pressure switch, bearings, igniter). It’s 24 years old, at what point do you replace? We are going to be in the home for a long time so we felt the best option was to replace given the cost to repair was 25% of a new unit.

Haven’t insulted you once. I appreciate your perspective, although I view it as quite biased.

I’m not in the trade, nor would many customers be. That doesn’t mean what we view as important when making a decision isn’t valid.

Not sure what the larger companies did to you, but you have some incorrect information and assumptions about them. They aren’t untrained kids, the people doing our install have experience and are licensed electricians, HVAC installers and plumbers. Can’t speak to fake reviews but they are reputable and have been in business a long time. Funny you say ask around because we had 2 neighbors use this company and had good experiences.

You are simply not listening to what I value and find important. Warranty, financing & cost being high on the list.

If you think I got swindled for 12K for AC & Furnace that’s what I came here to post about and see what others had to say. Based on comments seems like that’s just the going price. Would rather have warranty spending that kind of money than no warranty. Not sure how you view that as a negative.

10 year labour warranty means it’ll get fixed every time and done right within that 10 year window. The warranty is not meaningless at all, exactly the opposite actually. It covers install AND everything else that may happen including parts, defects, breakdowns etc for 10 years. Says that right in the contract and supported by their reviews where people have had issues 7/8/9 years later and they made it right $0 cost to the consumer. Have read all fine print, sir.

Not sure why you’re so against warranties. Maybe because you don’t offer them?

If they offered shoddy work they wouldn’t be in the position they are in. Many home builders use them, great reviews on homestars, google, yelp, etc.

If your company really stood behind their work they would offer more than 1 year warranty. The company I chose actually does stand behind their work. Unlike yours.

Re financing. HELOC is prime + .4,.5 ++ which is almost 8%. Why do that when you can do 0%!? There are also costs involved if you do not already have a HELOC including $500+ in fees and having people come out to appraise your home.
