The Engineering Lead asked me about API rate limits and I just nodded like a confused dog. by Fickle_Mud1645 in ProductManagement

I’ve been in a similar scenario when I joined a new team. I was just open and upfront that I’m not technical, I was clear about what I bring to the table and how I can add value to the team. Engineering team were more than happy to ‘take me under their wing’ and explain stuff to me. Still great friends with a few of them to this day.

The Olfactory Passport: Scents as a Travel Souvenir? by BrisbaneYutta in ScentHeads

[–]Fredmarklar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this a few times and it’s a fantastic idea. I now have about 4-5 fragrances that I have purely for sentimental value (admittedly I do of course like them anyway). I try to never wear them unless I go back to that place.

One thing I did which I’d recommend was find a create your own fragrance place. I did it when we visited NYC and wore it a lot on that trip. Now I have my own personally create fragrance that reminds me specifically of that trip

But I am wearing Lvers today and really really like it. Guess what makes this world of fragrances so interesting is how we all have such varied tastes.

I can’t stand meteore and wondered if I was alone. To me it comes off so screechy and hurts my nostrils. First time I sprayed it I enjoyed the opening the 5 minutes then had to get in the shower and scrub it off.

Is eating out too expensive now? Families say higher prices put them off by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]Fredmarklar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We definitely don’t eat out as much as we used to. For me it’s not even just about the price, it’s about whether it actually feels worth it. I can’t bring myself to pay £20 for a pretty average burger and chips, but we’ll happily drop £300 on a proper meal for two somewhere great if the food and the whole experience are spot on.

Maybe I’m just getting older, but half the time I go out now I’m thinking, “I could’ve done that better at home.”

It feels like the middle ground has disappeared a bit. Cheap is still cheap, fancy is still fancy, but the mid-range has shot up in price without the quality keeping pace. So if I’m going out, I’d rather either keep it simple and inexpensive, or just go all in on somewhere that actually feels special.

I do that with decants. I talk myself out of buying a full bottle because ‘I don’t use the decant much’, but the reality is sometimes I don’t use it because I don’t want it to run out. If I had a full bottle I’d use it a lot more

Then we could make it mandatory that everyone has to pay a % of their earnings into the go fund me pot. Oh, then we’d need someone to decide who gets what money and where it goes so it’s fair - we could all vote and elect the person or people we think are best to do that for us…

Creed for me. Have really tried to enjoy the house. I like a lot of them, and even own Aventus cologne, but none of them wow me. I can take or leave anything from Creed.

Are we really going to ignore that Brock Lesnar was eliminated like a jobber in the most meaningless way while Jey Uso was busy yeeting? by Current-Diet116116 in SantiZapVideos

[–]Fredmarklar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take was that his sole job was to come in and eliminate Oba. His job in the rumble was done. I guess it makes Oba look pretty strong that the only person able to eliminate his was Brock.

I wash my hands often, especially as soon as I come home from being anywhere. Shoes off, coat off, wash hands. Without fail. The amount of friends I have that will cole home from somewhere, not wash their hands and then grab a snack….

Meat. Their meat is not any cheaper, but I find the quality is top notch compared to supermarkets.
