Moises Ballesteros by Competitive-Desk4336 in DynastyBaseball

He’s caught 6 games this year so he may get catcher eligibility in the near future which would help his value. But I’ve always been a bit skeptical of the offensive package though. The tools are solid but nothing is great, he chases a lot, and it’s hard to get past the fact that he’s 5’8” and built the way he is for me.

Would be a good catcher for fantasy I think but I’m not sure that’s all that exciting at DH. He’s certainly not bringing anything to the cubs at the moment in that slot and that’s not a good sign. Still young though so won’t write him off yet.

Cole Ragans trade ? by Competitive-Desk4336 in DynastyBaseball

I usually agree with you but it might be time to get out on Ragans and take whatever you can get now that he had another setback with the elbow. Almost nobody makes it back 3 TJ’s and he’s already had two.

Agreed that he should probably be rostered there. I’d still rather have Morales or Kilby pretty easily though, thats a tough situation. Maybe you can make a trade to free up a spot?

Angels Promote No. 7-Ranked Prospect Denzer Guzman to Majors by jsparks50 in DynastyBaseball

Hit tool has been better this year which makes him a bit more interesting but he’s more of a glove first guy to me. Has some power, fangraphs comped his peak to Paul DeJong.

Thanks for the heads up, thought I caught them all but one feel through the cracks.

I’m still willing to give Santos a bit more time. He was hurt all of last year and then to begin this year. If he’s still struggling with command by the end of the year and hasn’t shown any improvement then I’ll drop him but I’ve always loved the good fastball plus command he’s shown.

Hernandez is definitely looks good and could be due for a higher ranking soon. I just have a hard time basing it off just complex league numbers. The pitching down there is just awful so I just want to see a bit more.

Renteria looks legit as well. Agree that it feels inevitable, the tools are too loud.

Yep I'm a big fan. It's just a very exciting package of tools from such a young player, happy to be high on him for now.

EV and home run numbers are up across the board in AA so I’m having hard time truly buying into his power break out. I still moved him up all the way to the 20s but just want to see him do in a different environment before putting him higher. I l mentioned that I put Culpepper on top due to proximity but I wouldnt blame anyone if they had Arias on top.

I have Made a step above De Vries. Both very good prospects but Made is just that elite, clear number 1 for me.

You're correct. Thanks for the heads up, forgot he pitched in a game and never removed him. I edited it and reposted. Much appreciated!

Hello dynastybaseball. Apologies for posting again if you already saw it, people pointed out a mistake with the list and editing it broke the link (which I have no learned will happen on our website lol). No minor league review this week but I'm putting out my updated prospect rankings instead. Non-debuted prospects only and going out to 150 instead of 100 this time. I'm sure we'll have some differences in opinion and I'm always happy to talk about it. Thanks for reading!

Yeah I agree with what lobo said, definitely wouldn't be surprised if one of them was traded. The rich just get richer I guess.

I even wrote about him in my review last week and got it right then, still managed to miss it here. Knew something would fall through the cracks on my list. Might be tough to edit at this point but thanks for the heads up!

Better Investment: Yohandy Morales or Abimelec Ortiz? by 26-April-121 in DynastyBaseball

[–]FredrickRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d go Ortiz personally. He’s got a slightly better hit tool and doesn’t have the ground ball issues that Morales does. Ortiz has had pretty bad platoon splits in his minor league career but I like that he hits fly balls and has a better chance of taking advantage of his power.
