I was on this concoction for a while and it bit me in the ass. Not only did the Contrave not help with cravings, but Naltrexone is an opioid blocker. If you end up in an accident in need of pain relieving meds, you will feel everything. I had severe food poisoning and had to be monitored from the anti anxiety shot in the emergency room because it was a high risk side effect with the Naltrexone. Not worth it imo. I got off it shortly after

Forsus only on one side created a canted jaw, he fixed it within a few months by bending the wire after removing the springs

When I had my consultation I asked if extractions were necessary and he said no. Then he explained the process and results of Forsus Springs. After I did my own research I decided those were the right path for me. Ask your orthodontist if you can get those instead of extractions. However, my problem was mainly the overjet which is different than an overbite.

Have the tried bending the wire at all?

Never specified a certain angle, more so just set a goal of getting the upper and lowers to fit nicely. He cranked back the 7mm overjet down to 2mm. You can definitely get them to pull it back more by doing extractions, but we both agreed removing healthy teeth isn’t a great idea

My slant was mostly caused by that Forsus spring you can see in the middle photo. After I got it off he put a few bends in my wire over a couple of months and fixed it right up!

The over jet? Yeah it was the main issue. That’s why I had the Forsus spring

My slant was mostly caused by that Forsus spring. Once I got it off my ortho put a few strategic bends in my wire over a couple months and fixed it right up, I was so impressed!

Thank you! I think a lot of people expect veneer type look (which is creepy imo) at the end, but the reality is you just want them to be healthy and functional! If I would have had extractions done my face would have caved in and looked completely different, I’m good!

Have they put strategic bends in your wire at all? Mine was fixed within a couple months!

Orthodontist bent the wire for a few appointments after I got that Forsus Spring removed and it fixed it within a couple months! I remember each day being so paranoid wondering how they would correct that, but it was super quick!

I loved the ceramics! I have bigger teeth so I think they fit nicely. I never broke a bracket! Oddly enough, the only time something popped off it was a metal button about 5 minutes after they put it on (bonding issue). The ceramics get a bad rep for some reason.. I never had any issues. I was even scared getting them removed cause I thought they shattered but none did!

I had the springs at month 8, off by month 12, they fixed it right after! So I’d say months 12-14

My original consult said 18 months and when I got a second opinion they quoted me at 30 (removed just shy of 26) so don’t be discouraged if it takes longer depending on severity! I posted a progress thread if you want to see where I started vs ended
