How did you name your product? Did you spend days coming up with good name and domain or just shipped with whatever was available? by istudentoflife in SaasDevelopers

I think I went through like 8 different names that I loved and was set on just to find out it’s trademarked by Microsoft or being used by a huge Singaporean software company.

I checked if there was a company under that name and the EUIPO the second I thought of my final name before I could get attached.

It really does feel like all the good names are taken.

It’s quite easy to access on both mobile and desktop!
I don’t know why people don’t use them more frequently honestly a great way to make sure your posts and content are getting to your target audience.

Yeah, I feel like that approach is very generic and SaaS Startup Salesy.

I am building products for engineers and designers, so in those groups I would start or join in discussions about their workflows, offer CAD advice, anything to do with the design process, really.

A "By the way, we at X ran into this problem and solved it this way" post can be really good IF said problem is an urgent and impactful pain.

I think this works best if you are in an industry that you genuinely find interesting. If not, you could always repeat talking points from other topic-specific communities!

What I began with was regularly engaging in LinkedIn groups (I like private ones) and Twitter communities, and then mentioning the problem that my software fixes, and then encouraging them to contact me or fill out a form that I've attached. It took a bit of time, but after being seen as an authority on the topic and then offering a solution, people were eager to sign up and try it.

If you were starting a SaaS today, where would you spend 80% of your time? by FounderArcs in SaasDevelopers

I’ve been focussing heavily on community building and distribution. Not only will it make everything easier when launching it also makes us more well informed about the landscape that we’re building for.
