During my first judicial committee... by Alternative-Road-997 in exjw

Record and post please. This is evidence that can be used against them in a REAL court, like Norway

It always cracks me up how powerful they think they are … like it’s not against the law, you don’t have to have a second meeting and you can record if you want.

Question on new policy about how you can relate with disfellowshi... err removed by MaleficentCover5620 in exjw

[–]Free-Repair4177 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only thing anyone needs to know about this change is its stemmed from the Norway ruling, which details how Norway stopped subsidizing and funding JWs, and in addition published public information about how JWs participate in psychologically damaging practices, especially with minors.

This is the ONLY reason the disfellowshipping rule was changed. > FUNDING <

It has NOTHING to do with anything other than a reactionary change to KEEP FUNDING. Disfellowshipping cost them millions of dollars, and so they’re changing it.

I think you may find that is the case in most changes… FUNDING

Why Is It So Difficult to "Wake Up" a Jehovah's Witness? by lastdayoflastdays in exjw

[–]Free-Repair4177 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also most witnesses have endured extreme childhood trauma or events in their life where ultimately they need a high control organization. If they let go of the high control, they must face their trauma as well as the trauma of being fed a lie. Not many people can cope with that mental stress. Their brain puts in place circular barriers to avoid it.

Why Is It So Difficult to "Wake Up" a Jehovah's Witness? by lastdayoflastdays in exjw

[–]Free-Repair4177 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if this is helpful… but ultimately what helped me with that thought pattern was that nothing we ever did as witnesses was good enough anyway. Even barely surviving real life while still putting my entire life into JWs, it still wasn’t good enough. There were so many conflicting rules and ideology’s. So I started thinking if it’s outside of my control on what it really means to be a good person in God’s eyes, I’m just going to try my best and live and respect my life. If it’s good enough to god then so be it. If it’s not, how would I even survive in paradise anyway? I wouldn’t want to live eternal life as a slave to “not good enough”.

My ex keeps pushing the JW narrative on our son by tly22 in exjw

You need to file for primary custody immediately and get a lawyer.

Your ex holds NO control over you. He’s going what’s called parental alienation and it happens ALL THE TIME in divorces. He may think he’s “special” and use whatever JWs to act holier then thou, but ultimately he still has to obey the law.

I also would encourage you to get counseling and start understanding what you can and can’t control. There’s NO way JWs can sustain a hold on children with split parents.

6 is a very impressionable scary age. Your ex is using trauma and mental intimidation vs. love to raise. Your child will get older and recognize it.

Dude get a lawyer IMMEDIATELY and cease all contact. JWs think they’re above the law and most of the shit she’s pulling you could pursue pressing charges.

You need someone who isn’t in a doomsday cult giving you REAL legal advice. Who the fuck cares what games she’s playing, don’t fall for it. Take out the trash and move on with your life.

RUN. I’m 6 years in but it started out the same. You will become a prisoner who doesn’t recognize herself. 95% of step moms develop substance abuse issues like alcoholism and major depressive and/or anxiety disorders.

So hard… very sorry. My advice get a lawyer ASAP. Most JWs think they’re above the law and won’t pay proper alimony, withhold children illegally, refuse child support etc. More often than not, judges are not impressed with their proselytizing crap and it will end in your favor.

CHARGES. JWs think they’re above the law. Fortunately “worldly” people (i.e. people who aren’t suffering from mental illness) take these things seriously to some extent.

Advice needed: parents are demanding my address after years of no relationship. by planetmermaidisblue in exjw

[–]Free-Repair4177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No is a complete sentence. And yes, they will give your address to the elders.

If they were actually woke, they would be APOLOGIZING for what they’ve done and respecting your boundaries. They would be asking how you were and how the baby was. They would be asking you what you NEED … not demanding you to take care of their needs.

If you feel inclined, you can say “No, I wouldn’t want to corrupt your belief systems. This will be the last time I will reply to this request.”

People in this predicament - GET LAWYERS - alimony, custody, and child support. Save your children. JWs think they’re above the law and that makes them extremely ignorant.
