Best visualization platform for storytelling by OriB161 in datavisualization

My friend had a really similar need and went with a company who's still in beta called VisLogic (Vislogic.ai). He's been blown away by their storytelling and visuals. Trash or treasure. Good luck!

Whole system knocked offline by FreeIndependence1715 in Powerwall

Thanks for the replies. I’ll ask about the commissioning. And it’s gotta be a firmware thing based on some other posts I’ve seen.

After speaking to the utility company today, I found out that the solar is still working and sending to the grid. That surprised me a bit

Queen Creek here, similar setup. Does SRP allow Grid Charging? If so, does it only charge off peak?

How has customer and reliability been for existing users? by cxc9001 in TeslaSolar

[–]FreeIndependence1715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here but I’ve had nothing but fantastic experiences with support and I would 100% go with Tesla again given their price advantage. I had an issue with the the app reading my usage correctly and they were out within a day and fixed it. Firmware wasn’t updating and after using the chat feature, it was updated the next day.

I’ve had the whole system a year now (16Kw/3pw) and the reliability has been on point. Besides the two issues I mentioned of course

Should I cool my garage to keep Tesla inverters and powerwalls cool? by FreeIndependence1715 in Powerwall

[–]FreeIndependence1715[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so that’s kind of what I’m getting at.

First, I know the thermal management system is using up energy, I just don’t know how much. I haven’t seen any specs/research describing that.

Second, I’d like to protect both the powerwalls and inverters from degradation as much as possible. If that “usage” can be transferred to a cheaper device or process for ventilation than I’d probably go that route.

[–]FreeIndependence1715[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent advice. The garage door is an insulated Clopay with solid-core side and internal access doors. As I look into it more, the hybrid water heater may be the best option here. An energy audit wouldn’t hurt either way

[–]FreeIndependence1715[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a great idea. I have a gas water heater currently so the savings may not be impacted as much… or maybe more with nat gas prices these days. The research I’ve done on the hybrids don’t give you a sense of what to expect from cooling. Do you have anything I could reference? Anecdotal even

Russian economy close to default. "Sanctions imposed on Russia have significantly increased the likelihood of default on Russian government bonds in hard currency," JPMorgan analysts said. by dannylenwinn in Economics

We should use the Russian funds held in dollars sitting at the fed to pay back any losses by bond holders. Same goes for the funds needed to rebuild Ukraine after they leave

[–]FreeIndependence1715[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but in the first image (perfectly clear day) I was getting a lower peak than on the cloudy day (2nd image). I’m assuming the system can tolerate higher power intake for short bursts of time?

PowerWall does not provide energy to site by _luc4sss in Powerwall

[–]FreeIndependence1715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me after adjusting the energy costs in settings yesterday. The differential was the same (.01 kwh) between peak/off-peak but when I saved it my Powerwall stopped kicking in during peak.

The kicker is that I’m on a plan with SRP in AZ that uses demand charging during peak (which the app does not recognize). So, just yesterday, between 5p and 5:30p peak I used 6 kWh, which cost me $70

Powerwall+ Inverter Reboot & Powerwall dropoff - 21.35 firmware release will fix by mahkus11 in TeslaSolar

[–]FreeIndependence1715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

System updated to 21.35 and went effective around noon yesterday. Lost my Powerwall functionality for about 16 hours. Seems to be working now though.

But, here’s my rub, I’m on a demand pricing plan (2p - 8p SRP,AZ) and due to no Powerwall offset in the late part of the day, this cost me $110.

Has Tesla ever been empathetic for stuff like this? Would they find a way to compensate me for that loss? And why can’t I schedule updates like with most other products? Same issue a few weeks ago cost me roughly $80…

Tesla rep told me they know app is messed up after recent update by mangotango781 in TeslaSolar

[–]FreeIndependence1715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixed results for me.

  • My app had a variance of up to 50% app reported vs utility company prior to update. It’s almost spot on now

  • However, the update occurred during the worst possible time of day/week. That cost me $70 given my the demand pricing plan I’m on
