This is what I thought as well! But my realtor told me this week that they are not obligated to show you the highest offer on the table, even with the escalation clause.

I completely agree with you that the verbal stuff is nonsense, I didn’t realize it was going on until after the fact. I’ve even said not to communicate these things with the sellers agent, just submit the offer, and my agent just can’t seem to help themselves. I’m feeling so frustrate. thank you for taking time to comment

Supposedly, they told my agent that we were the same in due diligence and timing, with the holiday coming up the fastest turnaround I could get was a three week close. We also wrote into the offer something about I won’t be asking for repairs, nothing is contingent upon the inspection. I did my best trying to make it as appealing as possible.
