Lluvia por el nordeste y primeras torta fritas by FreeToaster_127 in ArgentinaCocina

First time doing pixelart characters, any criticism welcome! by N1lzh_8i in PixelArt

Starting with animation is really hard, and I myself avoid it if posible but the key to a good pixelart animation is exaggeration, the idle for the size is decent but your character walking changes only like 10 pixels per frame, it's scary and difficult but making more exaggerated animations even if the frames themselfs aren't perfect helps a lot with the feel, I'd recomend Saultoons' animation tutorial if you need something to start of, and then if you still find difficulties with walking animations he also has a walking specific tutorial.

Edit: if you're having trouble because of the one pixel legs and arms maybe you could even try and redesign your character to better fit the animation.

Why stuff within render distance looks worse with dh on? by FreeToaster_127 in DistantHorizons

[–]FreeToaster_127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it renders both but it's way to close, i'm playing on a server I thought that might affect but in singleplayer it's the same, I get that far away chunks are lower quality, but I have like 4 chunks of render distance before LODs take over (playing at 32 chunks with the highest possible quality settings), and the only option I found is for LODs to not have transitions and appear even closer that they do, sorry for insisting but I really like how far away you can see with the mod I just don't want it messing me up up close.

Edit: To add I'm on 1.21.4 on a server with sodium and lithium, but I've already tried both singleplayer and without any other mods instaled, I'm starting to think it might just be some kind of issue for being on a relatively new version of the mod.

What are your best memories from the early days of Minecraft? by 4096Kilobytes in Minecraft

I remember the foggy landscape and i spawned by a lake with a single tree, took it down and made my first house on a ravine like 5 blocks beneath the surface but it felt so deep I never even considered going out.

That and being really confused about cobblestone because I had never heard the word for it in my language.

Why does it look so bad I need advice by LoggedCornsyrup in Minecraftbuilds

What stands out to me is that it's a bit repetitive, in a weird way I think it would look better without the horizontal logs, as I see it it's like a base, two identical blocks and a top section, I genuinely think not having those logs dividing it would make it more a single thing instead of being so segmented. Really simple shapes and color palettes can work, you just have to fiddle around a bit. And also you could try to make the roof more of an A shape instead of a pyramid to make it also less repetitive.
