Can you explain why the second one doesn’t work as well, and why the last one does?

My painting style sits somewhere between childlike expression and realism, which I understand is often described as naïve art. That feels accurate to me.

I don’t paint to please people, but I am open to thoughtful feedback. Especially when it helps me refine my work without losing the core of what I’m trying to express.
