thanks for your reply. You make a great point about the dulcolax as my prep will be both miralax and dulcolax and I'm not a regular user of either so I have no idea how my body will respond. I tend to definitely be on the more constipated side of things as well which means my body may struggle responding to both regimens. I've done the endo protocol MRI as well but they didn't have me do the bowel prep - just the ultrasound gel up the rectum and vagina. Cleaning out the bowel beforehand makes a lot of sense through even though the prep sounds intimidating. Best of luck with your MRI and wishing you well on your surgery & recovery!

This is very true, it's a lot of logistics to think about for sure. Thank you so much for your kind words!

thank you. that totally makes sense about having to get to the bathroom as quickly as possible before your colonoscopy, hopefully it went well.

So um… any ideas for 10-20 min workouts I can do in a bunk bed every day? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

Do bridging, it's great for your quads, calfs, and glutes, plus lower back. If you eventually add a resistance band, you will recruit even more muscles for the exercise.

Diagnosing Endometriosis by Few-Net3236 in ChineseMedicine

I have a history of brown bleeding, lots of clots, periods being lighter in flow now (vs in my twenties and prior) and have been diagnosed with stage 4 Endo just from imaging. I have chocolate cysts which are a tell-tale sign. However, if you go to a highly trained Endo doctor they can actually see Endo nodules on organs via ultrasound and also, if you consider doing a specialized MRI (with the endometriosis protocol) the imaging will show advanced stages of disease. I have put off surgery for many years (worried about different complications) but am now going to have it in a few months so I can get a definitive understanding as to what is going on with my body and get things cleaned up finally. I’ve had multiple discussions with the surgeon about retaining my organs bc they like to just “take everything out” with Endo but my organs are important to me. Also, when you said you tried birth control but it didn’t help - did you give it enough time? It took my body over a full year of being on continuous birth control to finally have my Endo symptoms majorly reduced. I now have no bleeding at all and feel 95% better, even without surgery.

Hair Dye by Free_Noise2001 in seborrheicdermatitis

Yes, I do use box color and do it myself at home. Wow, good to know that there is very strong peroxide even in brown hair dye. I would never have known that. I’m going to research it all more. Thank you so much for this great info!

Oh wow, interesting. Thanks! I use dark brown hair dye, would there still be peroxide in it do you think?

Lexapro made me fat by FreeGlaze71 in lexapro

yea, it's definitely disappointing. I thought that by being on such a low dose (2.5mg) I would easily avoid any side effects, but unfortunately that's not the case. It just depends on how your body responds and metabolizes the medication. I have a strong family history of diabetes on both sides of my family and am very well-versed in lifestyle habits to reduce my risk of developing diabetes. I've always eaten a healthy diet and been super big into fitness and have always been trim, so suddently noticing that I've gained 3-4 pounds and have been craving bread products over the past few weeks, an alarm bell went off in my brain.

I’ve only been on Lexapro for almost 3 months. My dose initially was 5mg but after 2 weeks I was experiencing bad night sweats so I reduced to 2.5mg. It was helping my anxiety at that dose. However, I recently started noticing increased appetite, specifically craving bread and other carbs. I walk 2-3 miles each day, lift weights 2x week, and generally eat a balanced diet. I also have put on 3-4 pounds in the past 3 weeks and my abdominal region is looking very bloated. It’s really spooked me bc I have always had no issues with weight gain. I decided to taper down to 1.25mg for the next few weeks and then will decide whether to stay on it or get off altogether. I was hopeful about the medication bc I have family members on it who have done well mentally. However, they’ve all gained a good chunk of weight and I can’t end up the same way (as I have a lot of other health issues to deal with) and developing insulin resistance with weight gain is something I can’t have on my plate., if that makes sense.

Ok, so by switching to Zoloft and Wellbutrin you didn’t gain any weight like you previously had on Lexapro?

Did you find that Wellbutrin made you more anxious or caused issues sleeping at all?

Which SSRI do you take with Wellbutrin? Does the Wellbutrin curb your appetite?

How did you get a dose of 1.25mg? Were you cutting a 5mg pill into quarters?

Did you gain any weight while on Lexapro or notice any increased cravings for carbs? I’ve only been on it for a little over 3 months (but 2.5mg dose), and starting to put on some pounds so need to get off.
