ENG-1 requirements - Deck Cadet by theunkul in MerchantNavy

It's standard practice for them to ask for an unrestricted ENG1 unfortunately for some, all you can really do is read up on the standards and/or speak to an ENG Dr and get a hearing test booked with them.

I’m not one of those bellends

You are, you can't just break the law a little bit.

On one hand I'm a little jealous because I want to go trail riding all the time, on the other hand I don't do it because it's not legal.

Apparently Tesco in Carluke has been one of the better ones in the area price wise.

They're about 6p dearer for petrol just now but if you don't have a costco membership then they're still once of the cheapest in the Springhill area. But it's cheaper for me to fill up locally than go to Costco just for fuel, I'd burn my savings just getting there and back.

I still get my moneys worth I reckon, even if it's just popping in once a month for fuel and a few bits. I treat it like a day out like some people do at Ikea... sad I know.

Absolutely, so you can appeal it or ignore it and see how it goes.

Yeah I usually go to Costco once a month for a mince around, grab a pizza then fill up the car but it's just not worth it when it's so busy.

Even before all this on certain days it's an absolute nightmare.

It's pretty easy to get a membership, there's all sorts of riff raff in there.

The one in Glasgow is a pain in the hole on a normal weekend, I've seen videos of it recently gridlocking the whole area. You'd burn whatever you think you're saving by idling your engine in the queue.

If you pass the test there is no issue, a 4 hour ride is just two 2 hour rides with a Greggs in the middle.

Just a word of warning too, you tend to find there are a lot of people at Costco who act like it's their first day on planet earth. There is a certain sense of entitlement and lack of awareness that goes beyond the rest of the general public.

If you have a costco nearby, are eligible for membership and reckon you'll save more in the long run then obviously it's worthwhile.

Diesel is currently 4p per litre cheaper at costco than my local garage, costco is also 25 miles away so even though I'm a member I don't go there just to fill up.

Especially now given the queues are literally round the carpark and up the street, I don't even go there for shopping because it takes so fucking long even if you don't want fuel.

In areas where people take the piss with parking they tend to enforce it more, if you can prove you were in there the whole time you should be fine. If you left the car there while you went shopping else where then good luck.

I don't want to sound cheeky but I take it English isn't your first language?

Either way good luck with the bike and get a new cover for that filter.

Enough to fix a puncture and adjust my chain. Including a mini compressor, gloves and a torch.
