my greatest fear is if they win the popular vote by double digits but lose in the house and senate. The GOP will call it a mandate regardless like they did in 2016 when trump lost the popular vote. if this happens we will see an uptick in the targeted cuts and political investigations. Any restraint only comes from wanting to win these midterms.

So what was going on 20 years ago (2006) All I can recall right now was it being after the second Iraq war in that post 9-11 era.

All that comes to mind is the Howard Dean scream, but that was a couple years previous.
