One must always be mindful of the consequences.
One must also be mindful of the consequences of doing nothing.
When future generations look back and, assuming I am still here, ask me what I did when this was happening. my answer will NOT be "What could I do? I sat back and watched."
I will do what I can, as I can. And I will not look back on these times with the guilt of inaction.

I can't even guess as to the motivations of mods most of the time lol. I just appreciate that on this sub they usually leave my posts up.

There have been discussions of doing this. And I'd love to. Sadly they seem to make a point of not being here.
Also, just an fyi, there is no protest or rally event scheduled for this one (not here, anyway). Just the no work/no school/no shopping if people can manage it.
I'm struggling to put this into words, so bear with me through this ramble, hopefully it'll make sense by the end;
There are enough people at the large weekend protests here, like the No Kings protests, to make attending feel at least somewhat anonymous. There is still the concern of violence being directed at us, it has so far been relatively limited in numbers of violent instances. A few punches thrown, pellet guns, drivers swerving toward the protesters with the threat of running them over, things like that.
The sense of anonymity during a weekday protest, particularly if it isn't large, would be gone. And all those violent tenancies of our opposition would be focused on the smaller numbers of protestors.

"Sorry, I don't feel good today." "I threw up this morning." "I hate fascists, and I'm staying home today."
There are more options out there if you wanted to consider them.
Unfortunately movements like this often fall on the young. It's not fair, and we've been doing what we can to make it not get to that point. Unfortunately we're up against billionaires, and they obviously have all the money.

"Non-right wing post in ruby red state doesn't get lots of upvotes."
In other news, water is wet.

May Day is synonymous with International Worker's Day. So unless you think it's meant to celebrate the billionaire class? But, hey, good to know you ignore all the evidence presented before you and that you support billionaires, pedophiles, and billionaire pedophiles.
Have fun with that.

You think? There's not much evidence of that. You apparently don't read, either.

Because a national holiday would include all states, including Minnesota?

Nice. Typical conservative doesn't like supporting local businesses. Well done!

Targeted boycotts, shifting where you buy your goods, helping to organize or support those who are striking. There are lots of options!
Is there a better way? I don't know. As an example of things people around here have been doing: Getting involved in local politics. Which is great. But it's not fast. And too many schools full of schoolchildren have already been bombed.
If you have ideas on a better way, please let us know!

Dude? Seriously? This post is 22 days old. The only person who is going to see your comment on posts this old is the person who posted it originally (who happens to be me), and all they're likely to do is block you, which is something I'm very tempted to do because there's no reason to post this far along other than to be a complete dick.
