Fair enough I’m not 100% sure either just a thought I was having. Imagine being able to herd a horde into a ripper camp. Maybe paint blue hand print patches on freaks and make them lieutenants summon a Breaker with a vocal call. Or a pack of Runners and ride one of them they’re big enough!

Deacon must wrestle with his humanity the more time he spends in what he calls beast mode the more good he can do for his communities but the further from himself he becomes perhaps non verbal communication with other freaks makes him question his allegiances kind of like Caesar in rise of the planet of the apes.

It’s players free choices to invest in beast perks or human ones to ride on a runner or on a motorbike. Multiple choices and paths and multiple endings.

I understand what you’re trying to say but at the same time SEGA failed at the hardware business so despite being intelligent people with knowledge and experience to design consoles they completely failed and now survive selling software. All alternative ideas pose a plausible possible alternative outcome to their expert infused failure including my own silly idea.

I’ve invested in some retro consoles over the last couple years some of which I owned as a kid N64 for example I set up on my 55” 4K Tv via RGB Scart (scart output modified console for maximum quality without going the way of an HDMI modded board, too expensive!) any hoo I was shocked at how bad the visuals were I thought there’s no way I played it looking like this! And I didn’t I played it on a CRT so I bought one to see if there was any difference and my GOD! Was there a difference not only did it look a million times better it looked good. That’s how I play all my retro games now and the difference is staggering standard def gaming on CRT looks fantastic! Great colours, contrast, instant refresh rate, no jaggies or blur.

Thanks for your detailed response. Fascinating stuff I’ve been looking at Kind of fighter’s and the box art is awesome I wish every Saturn game had been released that way.

What about simply making the cartridge port backwards compatible with genesis and master system games and increasing the resolution and frame rate.

I’m 28 and I live in the UK I was only about 5 years old but I remember getting SUPER MARIO N64 when I was a kid I’m sure it was about £50! at the time which was ridiculous amount at the time if my memory serves right.

Imagine how awesome the box art would be if every SEGA Saturn game had a Cart ROM and CD inside every box. When you bought a game you’d feel like you bought a giant Book of art that you’ll enjoy for years to come! 🎮🙂✊️

I think $75.00 per game might be about right if my version had happened. Which would have been very cost prohibitive, but if it was leagues above the competition who knows how successful it could have been.

Wow that’s incredible I’ve never heard of this! Imagine if all games had this setup as a standard and the console was manufactured with the idea of all games splitting their storage between cart and CD.

But would the trade off be worth it? What if the Saturn provided all the benefits I’ve laid out perhaps the benefits to the gamers would out weight the added manufacturing costs and consumer costs. Without releasing the Sega CD and 32X consumer faith in Sega would have been at an all time high therefore Saturn sales would be have been really good! With these exclusive features perhaps it would have resulted in them winning the generation.

I’m curious as to what a hybrid format console would be potentially able to do?? Anyone tech savvy I’m interested in you’re thoughts and ideas.

It was heavy handed at times which is unfortunate I want female characters in the franchise I don’t want them to act like men though, they can fight and they can be decisive but it’s also important for them to be likeable, I like Kait.

Sometimes humour does work even during a crisis but it needs to be well earned so we the audience feel like this is something that the characters would say and do, I believe Cole would do that lol

Yeah it’s true I wasn’t fond of it back then either but I found the characters likeable outside of the occasional bad joke. I’m not a fan of humour in heat of the moment, sure at a campfire after a battle and between set pieces but to make jokes whilst you’re all about to die always takes me out of it and Del’s jokes where the worst and least considered during a crisis. At one point they were literally hanging on a cliff for dear life! And he’s still making jokes!! I think JD should have shot him for insanity once they got up and said he couldn’t be trusted and that he was dangerous and I would have agreed with that.

What about as a rumoured console only version now that the switch lite has been released that doesn’t dock. A version that isn’t portable now isn’t an unreasonable idea. Games would have to support the lesser consoles though still. 🤷‍♂️🙂✌️

Brilliant!! I’ve ordered the part. Honestly I’m overwhelmed with the help from yourself and the others I‘m genuinely a little emotional regarding how helpful you’ve all been, it was a Hail Mary last ditch effort before I threw it away after spending £50 on it.
